Lovely traditional Irish hotel

Foyles hotel is situated in the centre of Clifden surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants. Staff were excellent, warm, welcoming and very efficient. A lovely traditional Irish hotel with a real fire to welcome you on a wet and windy evening in November. The room was very comfortable complete with tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast was great and again the service was excellent.

The only thing to note is the lack of a lift which would be handy when you have heavy luggage, although help is available if required for those who may struggle.

Nice family run hotel. Very personable manager/owner Good breakfast and dinner.

The first room we were allocated was a bit basic and worn out, we spoke to the lady on reception and she changed us to a much better room. I think this review would be different if we stayed in the original room.

Memorable for the warmth of Foyle's hospitality, as well as Clifden's fine location.

The staff were particularly pleasant and helpful. The restaurant was excellent: a fine selection of menu items, quick service and beautifully cooked food.

The shower in the bathroom, which seems to be an imitation Victorian style, was rather complicated to handle. Everything else about the room was excellent.

We loved being in the center of town and the delicious breakfasts.

The room was comfortable. It's right in the middle of the town so it's a little noisy but it was quiet at night. The breakfasts were exceptional. We had one dinner in the restaurant and were equally impressed. The bar looked interesting but we didn't get a chance to check it out. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Great hotel and food in middle of town.

Staff are helpful and lovely. Room was big and comfortable. And restaurant has a wide variety of really delicious offerings. Street parking seems to be almost miraculously available whenever wanted. And we were here over the weekend in high season. Nice old style lobby to sit in.

Foyles is in the middle of town and noisy people outside the window bothered us as late as 2am on Sunday morning. (Take earplugs) Seems no rooms have walkin showers, all over bathtub.

We loved Foyles and Clifden!

A lovely small hotel in a quaint setting. We liked the in town walkability, and the hotel's restaurant was gorgeous and the meal wonderful. It was our favorite spot so far!

The view from our room was nonexistent, but felt very private.

Once I manage to darken the room, I had a good sleep. The hotels in a good location and a great breakfast thank you.

A quaint Irish hotel, a great location very nice cosy old Irish style restaurant. The staff were helpful.

The only problem I had was the curtains weren’t very good at darkening the room they let in a lot of the night street lights and I can’t sleep in a light room. And the morning light would’ve been terrible coming in very hard for me to sleep. So I made my own curtains using the duvet that I didn’t need because that’s too hot. I hung the duvet over the window that worked great to block out the light. They need to get room blackening curtains.

It was very central in Clifden town, an older building with high ceilings and comfortable seating in the reception area.

My only qualm was no lift and we were on the second floor. Lots of steps taken going up and down.

A delightful place to stay, a gem of a hotel.

A lovely characterful and friendly hotel without large coach parties. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The hotel staff were welcoming, There is a pleasant garden at the rear of the hotel. The location was very convenient for the town centre.

The car park was difficult to access but there was paid public parking at the front of the hotel.
