Noisey people above us spoilt our stay

Location was great on the banks of the tay river

The Room we had was on the bottom floor of the riverside complex and the room above had a very noisy floor which kept us awake every time someone moved above which wasn’t very good and they were early risers as well food in the restaurant was good but not value for money as there is a set price for two or three courses

A great place to relax.

The staff are friendly and efficient, and both breakfast and dinner are excellent, worthy of the AA 2 Rosette status. The bar, though small, is cosy, comfortable, and well stocked, especially for whiskey lovers. If seating is full, there are other inviting public areas where you can enjoy drinks from the bar. The drawing room stands out with its tasteful furnishings, making it a lovely spot to relax with tea, coffee, or a drink. The gardens, overlooking the River Tay, provide a peaceful place to stroll or sit quietly while watching anglers try their luck on the water.

Very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was exceptional. The grounds were perfect for walking the dog and the riverbank location was delightful. The room was warm and clean, and had direct access onto the terrace and lawn.

Amazing staff and cozy room.

The staff are amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great, and as I was staying with my dog they set us up in the foyer for meals which was great. Bar area was great, especially on a cold winter evening with the fire roaring. Very dog friendly.

It is a little tired looking, but everything was clean in the room. Understand the owners are underway with upgrades across the hotel.

The main hotel facilities are lovely and cosy. The staff were super friendly and can't do enough for you. The breakfast was superb! The hotel is a great launching spot to go an explore the Hermitage, visit Dunkeld etc!

We stayed in a Sports Mans Lodge room which was absolutely fine, but the bed not comfortable - there was a note that the hotel were in the midst of a 3-year renovation cycle, with the implication that these rooms were currently being looked at and so that bodes well!

Amazing and would definitely stay again

It is a dream which has stood still in time allowing you to travel back and enjoy everything it has to offer away from the world. Naren and Carlos together with the other staff were amazing - it’s great to be helped by people with a passion for their profession.

There was hair from previous people around the hair dryer and the walk to the riverside property could be better shielded from the elements and the entry of the river side building could be a bit done up a bit more to reflect how grand the main entry is

It felt like being in your own home. The staff were excellent on all levels. The food was superb with a great choice of menu. Good value for money. Drinks were pricey but bar staff very knowledgable when recommending wines and beverages - so spending that little bit extra was fine.

Bedrooms a little tired decor wise, although there was a note in our room to inform of ongoing programme of upgrading. The cost of B&B per night was a fair reflection of the quality of the room. Our room was also very clean and fresh.

Lovely traditional Scottish mansion house building in, in need of some upgrade in areas admittedly, set in gorgeous grounds and location. Dog friendly & staff hospitable.

Choice of dining room evening meals limited & expensive, bar small & again menu very limited resulting in us eating out at local establishments in the evening. On the other hand breakfast choice was excellent and good quality, waiting staff efficient.

We loved our stay at Ballathie House, this was our splurge/treat night on our trip around the UK, and met all expect

Coming from NZ the historical nature of the property and the grandeur was incredible. The property was fully decorated for Christmas which added to the ambience. The staff were all incredibly helpful and polite, and my husband said the porridge he had for breakfast was the best he’d ever tasted!

Country house Perthshire

Lovely building and grounds, great location just a shame it was just a night stop for us. Hope to return for a longer break. Quiet. Friendly staff who went the extra mile for you. Good food.

Our room with a large comfortable bed and view over river, was a little cold but the receptionist soon arranged for an extra heater and hot water bottle. Thank you. Shower was the over bath type. Drive is rather pot holed, in the dark, but the building and location more than make up for this.

I love this hotel, a real home from home.

Fabulous hotel. A little tired in places but spotless. The team are warm, nothing is a problem. The lounge has a real fire, traditional sofas and armchairs, wonderfully comfortable on a rotten day.

The rooms are missing a few of the finishing touches such as Bathrobes, fresh milk etc.
