Lovely location

Great location close to the terme dí Saturnia in the countryside. The restaurant next door was delicious. Breakfast was included and was good, more variety would be nice.

Welcomed back like an old friend

The staff make you feel like an old friend returning for a visit and are always willing to share how they use their local products. Highly recommend also the restaurant Osteria Le Frasce. I tortelli are to die for!

I have to say i’m not easily impressed but the Ciavatta Hotel really delivered. Location and the true Tuscany experience was felt and the staff is amazing. Our kid loved it.

Dirty and moldy

Nice pool, the rest was not great.

It was dirty, smelled of mold, many insects plus torn window nets so all the insects got in. We asked for someone to come and fix stuff/clean. They did, but nothing really changed. There was bird feces on the terrace, mold and someone elses food residues in the kitchen, dirty dishes... I think they will get very mean claiming I am making it up - as I have seen on their website- well I generaly rate hotels high If they are trying - these people were not. I am very sorry, because with a little bit more care this would have been a nice place in nature.

Great location, staff and pool area!

The staff was excellent! They helped us with everything we needed and did their best to assist us when the room didn’t have AC. They even helped us with another issue we had and kindly let us borrow their phone to make calls. The view, location, and pool area were great — we really liked it!

The problem with the room was that it didn’t have air conditioning, which was a major issue for us and made it very difficult to stay in the room, especially given how hot it is in Italy during the summer. To their credit, the staff did offer us alternative rooms (which, unfortunately, didn’t suit our needs), and eventually provided us with two fans. There was also an issue in the bathroom — dirt was falling from the wooden ceiling into the sink, and there was no light in the shower.

Amazing place. 100% Tuscany

Amazing location. 8 minutes to Cascate del Mulino. The area itself is incredibly beautiful. 100% Tuscany. The horses right outside the house were a real treat (and especially my wife, who loves horses). Two pools to choose from will allow you to cool off and relax on a summer day

Mosquitoes (really a lot, so take something from them). And flies. But this is a rural area, it's like that everywhere. The only negative thing is that there wasn't much kitchen equipment. For example, I couldn't grate cheese because there wasn't a grater. Which is strange for Italy, because how could we do without it.

A beautiful location near the hot springs, but poor maintenance,

The location just an 8 minute drive from the natural hot springs. That’s essentially the main reason to stay here. The hotel staff was kind and welcoming, and the breakfast was rich, varied, and nicely presented

The overall maintenance of the hotel is very poor and outdated. Most notably, the air conditioner was extremely old and ineffective. It just blew air without actually cooling the room, so we had to request a fan. The wooden beams above the bed were unstable and looked as if they could fall at any moment. The room’s panels and windows were dusty, and the window screens had holes, allowing many mosquitoes to enter. The on-site restaurant was overpriced and the service was disappointing. There were many bees and spider webs hanging from the canopy above the dining area. The food was served in very small portions, was not satisfying, and unfortunately lacked flavor

Charm all of your senses

Excellent location and the most charming grounds with a breathtaking backdrop. Rooms were spacious and bathrooms very clean. The incredible views, strong scent of flowers, and the singing sounds of birds made this place extra dreamy. The two pools were lovely, both offering a unique setting and experience . The staff was very welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful stay in a fairytale setting.

Beauty

The cottage was in a beautiful location with horses behind the cottage. The thermal baths were a short drive away, and the restaurant was right there on the top of the hill, which made dinner especially convenient. I think that in summertime this place is like farytale :)

Since it was humid outside, the house was also humid, the clothes were damp in the morning and the wet clothes did not dry out by morning either. The radiators were only hot for a short time in the evening and that was not enough.

Beautiful, peaceful, perfect!

This was our favorite place that we stayed at during our travels around Italy! My wife and I were looking for a peaceful refuge in between our crowded stays in Rome and Florence, and we were so happy that we booked two nights here at Relais Ciavatta. A friend of ours stayed there a few years ago and she highly recommended it to us, and we were not disappointed. We rented a car and made little trips to some amazing, beautiful nearby towns as well, such as Pitigliano, Bolsena Lake, and Civita di Bagnoregio - upon the recommendation of our lovely hosts. These were all breathtaking places to visit, and the serene, natural beauty of Relais Ciavatta was an ideal place to call "home" in between those excursions.

Nice Hotel in the best Italian region… but it was too expensive!

- Amazing location, really close to Saturnia and in the lovely Tuscany hills; - Nice pool area.

- Breakfast was too expensive for what was offered; - The hotel restaurant was in reality an osteria, which is fine but the quality of the food wasn’t the greatest. Tagliata was too fatty and really expensive (20 euros); - the cottage was ok, but needs some work, there was a leak on the roof.

The location is close for visiting the Cascate del Mulino and Terme di Saturnia. The appartment is big with the terrase. The private parking place is big and free of charge.

The glocery shop is not close. I asked for the additional bed sheet in advance (in written) but I did not receive it. There was a kitchen without the bread board, textile dishcloths, detergent for dishes and the holder for tableware and for washed dishes.

Nice views around, Hilly area, in the nearby there are thermal pools.

During our stay one of the pools was closed so we couldn't use it. Next day we were asked not to use pool as there were wedding guests and pools were reserved for them only. I dislike such splitting guests into 1st and 2nd category. Especially that we were also a large group.
