An interesting experience staying at the brewery.

The room was large with a comfortable bed and all you need for a short stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location and excellent beer

There was only one coat hanger, towels were a little thin and there was an odd smell in the bathroom.

Perfect for beer lovers and travellers by car

We loved the fact that the hotel is part of a brewery - it's Belgium after all. It's very close to the centre of Mechelen but very conveniently located for people who come by car - you would not need to drive through Mechelen's narrow streets. The room was huge and warm. The decor was fantastic.

A brilliant stay in mechelen.

Great accommodation.requested ground floor and it was granted.parking was secure.bought some beers at the shop.booked a table in the restaurant for tea. Whilst we had a cheese sharing board in the pub.fantastic servicefrom all staff.

It was quite dark in the room so it needed another large ceiling light.

A quirky stay with lots of interest.

Very pleasant staff to check us in.great shop which sold all the beers ,chocolates,hats etc.we ate at the brewery which had agood selection of food and again the staff were very friendly and helpful.breakfast was an excellent selection.

There are stairs upto the accommodation ,would specify lower floor next time.also stairs upto the breakfast room.

A hotel in a brewery - what's not to like?

The novelty of staying in a working brewery is great. Since our last visit the rooms have been upgraded and the shop re-sited. The restaurant serves Michelin recommended dishes and the food was excellent as always. The all you can eat breakfast is a winner, choose from cold cuts and cheeses, fresh fruit, yoghurts. rolls, bread and jam or freshly made bacon and scrambled egg with tea, coffee or fruit juice (07:00-09:30 or 08:00-10:30 weekends).

We always liked the cod drinks machine (chilled beer!) in the hotel lounge but sadly only lucky customers who hold a Belgian i.d. card can operate the machine now. It would be great if the hotel could issue some sort of temporary card for foreign over 18's to be able to use the machine. (Us Scots are thirsty travellers).

Location was perfect for accessing main city areas. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast included in the price. Comfortable beds. Brewery visit and well stocked shop. Car parking facilities on site.

Room was fairly spartan with insufficient hanging space and cupboard space for clothes.

Picturesque old brewery on edge of old center

The setting was beautiful and the location perfect - right on the edge of the center of Mechelen. Breakfast was excellent, the beds very comfortable. We did not eat at the restaurant. They had a vending machine with beer!

A great experience overall!

We really enjoyed staying right by the brewery. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed walking throughout the city. The room is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. We liked the addition of glassware and coffee/tea.

The walls were thin (could hear guests in the next room) and the beds are a little hard.

The room was a bit chilly and I would really suggest getting rid of the little toiletries plastic bottles. Not sustainable at all.

Great experience at Het Anker Brouwereij Hotel

The concept is unbeatable if you’re into Belgian beers. The hotel is situated in the same spot as the brewery with its own brasserie/restaurant and a complete lineup of the Gouden Carolus beers. Nice decorated rooms with a minimalistic touch but all functional. Clean, fresh and comfortable beds. The breakfast included hot and cold alternatives but it would’ve been great with some vegetables as well. Very friendly personal at the reception and the guide for the brewery-tour (not included in the hotel price) was excellent. About 30 minutes walk from the train-station but I’m sure there are taxis driving you there for a decent price as well.

Maybe not the most romantic surroundings but hey…..we’re there for the beer-experience and not romance.

Great beer, great room, great food, great location

beautiful industrial-style room, very comfortable and spacious. breakfast was great and the restaurant was too, amazing food and their own beer in literally every dish. even in the desserts! they were bvery welcoming of our dog both at the hote as well as the restaurant!

there was only one clerk at the checkin desk (which is also a shop) so check in took a while, but not a disaster.

Het Anker Stay

Rooms are very comfortable especially the air conditioning which was very welcome. Breakfast was good and included in the price also parking onsite. Staff very helpful and of course your staying in one of the best brewerys in Belgium so the beer is excellent.

Couldn't use the vending machine as a British tourist as we don't have chipped I.d cards (they sell alcohol) but this was a small inconvenience.

The heart of Mechelen

The hotel is located close to the centre of Mechelen, the rooms are spacey and beautifully furnished. What makes the hotel unique is of course the brewery. Everything is authentic and the history goes hundreds of years ago. The people working there have to be among the friendliest people we’ve ever met. We were welcomed warmly and got some tips on what to see and where to go. We also got to hear so many incredible facts about the brewery’s history. Needless to say, we heard so much about the different beers they produce, as well and got to try most of them. We have to say that we really understand why they are so proud of their history, their beer and working at such a place! It was so inspiring to be able to stay there and learn so much and enjoy some good beer! The only thing we regret is not staying there longer. We are definitely going back there and we strongly recommend it to everyone! This is truly the heart of Mechelen! Thank you for having us, it was an honour!
