Yusuf Bey House

The staff was amazing ! We never saw such nice and caring people ! They explained us everything to see in the region and organized us some excursions. They were very arranging for the check-in and check-out. The Turkish breakfast was very good with a beautiful view, the room is big enough and the location is perfect to visit the region. This hotel is very cheap for its quality and I recommend it 100%.

Hotel is located in central Goreme, in a street not directly on main road which is a plus. Room is spacious enough and free water is provided daily. Breakfast is good and with various choices. Freshly cooked eggs can also be requested. Staff was very kind. We had them arrange for a balloon tour (190€ each) and we had the nice surprise to be given back part of the money (50€ each). Honest people are not so easy to find so thank you to Yussuf Bey staff!

Ali, Arif and the housekeeper we met are lovely people; very friendly, welcoming, helpful, accommodating. They made our stay feel like we were at home. We enjoyed the variety of food items at breakfast, especially the cheeses, homemade pastries and cakes and Ali's tasty omelettes and menemen :-) We also liked being able to view the sunrise balloon spectacular from the rooftop terrace and the fact that we could use the dining room and terrace to relax, play cards, chat and rest after long days of touring the area. We were also very lucky to be the only guests (there were 7 of us) for one or two nights of our stay. Yusuf Bey House is well located with easy access to a variety of restaurants, shops, the bus station, post office and ATMs of Goreme. It's also only a 15 minute walk uphill to the sunrise/sunset viewing point (highly recommended to watch balloons at sunrise or enjoy the sunset but be warned, someone is charging a toll of TRY30 per person on the way up which you cannot avoid). Yusuf Bey organised a sunrise balloon ride for some of our group and got a decent discount for them.

The economy rooms are indeed economical. The rooms were clean but they would benefit from maintenance and a little care and attention e.g. sliding shower door kept coming off its rail, the shower head didn't fit properly into the holder. Our mattress was quite firm/solid but not impossible to sleep on. There was only one very soft pillow per person but I'm sure if we'd asked for more the hotel would have obliged. These minor improvements would make a big difference, I think.

Cozy guest house, off the main road but still close to the main attractions. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of variety at breakfast and the view from the terrace was stunning . Not one of the more expensive cave hotels but well worth the stay.
