Casa Roben was excellent. The previous night, we stayed in a smaller, traditional Romanian hotel, which too was excellent, just in different ways (that one was more homely and rustic). Casa Roben felt more like a modern Scandinavian or German hotel. It looked very new and modern and has either been very well looked after indeed, or has been very recently fitted out. The staff were excellent, most spoke very good English which was very helpful as we don't speak Romanian. One gentleman, I think the owner, helped me with a charging cable for my mobile phone. Without it I would have had to drive into town to buy another one, so that saved me a few hours. The breakfast was continental style buffet with cooked eggs and meat. My wife is very fussy about coffee and she liked the one they served here, so it must be very good indeed. The location is very good, it is in a beautiful spot at the base of some hills and there is a track to walk. Around the back of the hotel is a large pond with fish in and an integrated water fountain so if your room is at the rear, you will hear the flowing water which was very relaxing. The room was very large, clean and had a great balcony with privacy screens, one that you could actually use and sit out on, looking at a nice view. The shower room was large, the shower was superb.

Once the gates open it feels like a new world! Every detail was thoughtfully selected, and the furniture was handcrafted by the host. Each item has a unique story to tell. The room we had was big enough for a family of 4 with 2 king size beds and balcony. We enjoyed a delightful dinner on the terrace, including a mixed salad made with tomatoes from the host's garden, accompanied by a bottle of homemade red wine.

Wish I could use the Edenred tickets.

Extremely nice accommodation, very friendly and welcoming hosts and a great place to try local home cooked meals. The outdoor area is a museum and collection of old Romanian artefacts , tools and traditional clothing. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Air-conditioning is available in every room so don't worry about the heat.
