Villa Nera

The villa is spacious, with one bedroom downstairs and three upstairs, all with their own en suite. The bedrooms are huge, beautifully furnished and immaculately clean, with air conditioning throughout, which was a real bonus in the heat. The balconies and terraces are fantastic too, giving everyone plenty of space to relax. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area is generous, and the kitchen is exceptionally well equipped with everything you could need for a self-catering stay. Outside, the pool is a lovely size and the views are absolutely spectacular. Although we didn't hire a car, we found it easy to manage without one. There's an excellent supermarket just around the corner, and we happily walked into Bol for dinner every evening. The villa sits on the edge of Bol, which suited us perfectly as we prefer somewhere peaceful rather than being right in the centre. The payment process was straightforward. We paid half by bank transfer before arrival, the balance and cash deposit on arrival, and the deposit was returned without any issues. Ivica and Tatjana were superb hosts and very welcoming throughout our stay.

We didn't get any of the TVs in the bedrooms to work during our stay. It wasn't a major issue for us, but it would have been nice to have the option. Some didn't appear to be connected up. The walk into Bol takes around 10 to 15 minutes, but the return journey is uphill and quite steep, adding another five minutes or so. If you have mobility issues or young children, you may find it challenging. Taxis charge around €20 for the short journey back up, which felt expensive. Being surrounded by nature meant there were quite a few wasps around the pool during the day, and they often ended up in the water. It didn't spoil our holiday, but it was the only real negative we experienced.

Everything. The property was well equipped. All the rooms were very spacious with double en suite bathrooms and large comfortable beds. The pool area was ideal with a jacuzzi and shower. The veranda was well designed and very comfortable. The barbecue worked great. The villa is surrounded with lovely scenic views. Ivica was always available and very helpful.

Nothing. A brilliant place to stay.

Nice spacious villa in and outside. Great views across the sea and mountains. Our host was excellent as there was an issue with the pool pump overnight and he has round in 5 mins sorting it out, all resolved in an hour.

You do need a car really to get around given the location, not an issue but as we’d hired one. The hill is fairly steep to walk back from town but
