Trulli Barsento

A beautiful Trulli stay! It's got everything we'd possibly need - a comfortable dining area and kitchen with pots, pans, hob, cutlery, coffee machine, refrigerator, washing machine, a large enough dining table and chairs for 2, a little pantry with free snacks - a decently sized shower and toilet, everything works perfectly - a clean and cosy bedroom with a working air conditioner, clean and comfortable bed and sheets, a power outlet on each side of the bed, some space for the bags and a large mirror - a drying rack out front of the trulli. The host was also extremely friendly and helpful even though he spoke no English. We joked that he gave the most in depth briefing during check in amongst the rest of our stays during our travel. He provided a map of the main Alberobello region, explained to us where we could park our car and where to visit (with the help of google translate). He even printed out some information about the Trullis that would help us to understand what we see better. When we did not know how to work the washing machine, he came within a short time of me sending the message to help us. It was such an amazing stay we did not want to leave.

The stay was a turn into a small road from the main road which makes it difficult to find and away from the town centre which makes it hard to get to without a personal transport.

Ein liebevoll saniert und eingerichtetes Trulli auf einem wunderschönen Grundstück. Giovanni hat sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben mit uns zu kommunizieren und hat uns über die Geschichte seiner Trullis berichtet. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort übernachten.

Giovanni's trulli was impeccably restored. He was excellent with communication regarding our arrival instructions and explained everything perfectly. The trulli was large enough for the three of us and stayed incredibly cool throughout our stay - despite 36C temperatures all week. We didn't have to use the air conditioning at any point thanks to the thick stone walls and slept comfortably at night. The attention to detail in construction was obvious and made our stay comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the outdoor seating area made a beautiful and peaceful setting for evening meals. The surrounding area was quiet, with easy access into Alberobello and beyond. We had a welcome basket containing olive oil made from Giovanni's own olives, plus other local specialities, cookies and fruit. A tip for families - there's a great campground near Alberobello (Camping Dei Trulli) with an excellent pool that allows outside guests for half or full day access. Our daughter was able to play in the pool with kids from the campground and it was an ideal escape from the heat. When we left Giovanni kindly looked after our bags while we went swimming and kept water and food in a fridge for us.

Tutto! Il trullo era molto accogliente e pulito e non mancava assolutamente niente di quello che può servire durante un soggiorno, anche piccoli dettagli che però fanno la differenza (per esempio c’erano ciabatte di cortesia, cuffie per la doccia, shampoo e bagnoschiuma riutilizzabili, ecc.). L’host ci ha lasciato in frigo anche dell’acqua e delle ciliegie del suo albero. Il giardino è bellissimo e ben curato. Il signore della struttura, alla fine del soggiorno, ci ha anche mostrato il suo museo privato in un altro trullo della struttura, dove ci ha spiegato moltissime cose su queste strutture e sulla loro storia. Ci torneremo sicuramente, è stato tutto perfetto!
