Alex-Giannis Apartments, Barbati

We stayed at Gainnis 1, the smaller apartment of a duplex. It's a cosy place, surrounded by trees, with a nice terrace in front and a balcony in the back with sea view. We had our meals in the terrace (in the shade) and used the balcony (in the sun) for hanging our wet clothes. The air conditioning works well. There's constant hot water available. The property is gated and we felt very comfortable and safe there. The housekeeper Katerina is there about every other day and available if you need anything. The apartment is just below a busy road with a bus station, souvenir shops, restaurants and small supermarkets (so expect some noise from the road). If you are not planning on doing any trips, then renting a car is not absolutely needed. The kitchen is very well equipped. Despite it only having two small (electrical) burners, we prepared all our meals there. There are many pots, utensils, two kinds of toasters, coffee machine, hand mixer, lemon squeezer, cheese grater, etc. We only missed a peeler! There were also salt and pepper available, and upon our arrival two bottles of water. There's a bug repellent, too. There are two different parking lots available - we found one much more practical than the other. For the other one I'd recommend you cover your car or it'll get dirty from the trees. If your priority for a holiday is a good beach, this is your place. It's a 4-minute walk to the gorgeous Barbati beach. We were there last week of June and it was great - clean water with 25 degrees. In the morning there is no natural shade (you can rent sunbeds for 7,5 eur/person), but there is in the afternoon (due to the mountain behind it). The host was responsive and was accommodating to our requests.

The apartment is dated, which we didn't mind, but it needs better maintenance. The shower curtain is too short, so the bathroom floor gets wet all the time. That was the most frustrating part. The mosquito net on the balcony door is broken, so we couldn't keep the door open. We'd appreciate being given more towels (we did get them changed on a request), and some kind of a bidet, especially given that on Greek islands you're not supposed to throw toilet paper in the toilet. Some beach towels would be nice, too! We found the bed (mattress) and the bedding a bit uncomfortable and didn't sleep well, but that might depend on an individual.

Petite location, pour 2 personnes maxi, très bien située dans un très grand jardin au milieu des oliviers et orangers Proximité de la plage et commerces Très belle vue sur mer depuis le petit balcon qui est dans la chambre et où on peut manger Belle chambre, bien équipée, avec lits confortables Belle terrasse à l'entrée de l'appartement, équipée tables fauteuils Dommage que la cuisine et la salle d'eau ne soient pas dans le même état que la chambre Malgré ce que nous n'avons pas apprécié, nous avons passé un super séjour Cet appartement a du potentiel, mais demande un coup de fraîcheur

Cuisine minuscule, un peu vétuste, pas de moustiquaire à la fenêtre, alors qu'il y en a à la chambre et à la salle d'eau Bien utile, il y a des moustiques La salle d'eau demanderait aussi à etre rénovée Surtout la robinetterie pas très engageante, (limite propre)

Die Lage dort ist super. Man kann zu Fuss zum Meer laufen. Vorne Balkon zum Meer, hinten Terrasse zum sitzen.
