It was close to the ski slopes

The quality, cleanliness, poor to non-existing appliances. It sleeps up to six people, though it is more suitable for four. Many things were broken or not working like the tv remote, the shower nozzle, the tap in the kitchen and more. Very late check-in (after 5pm) and very early check-out (10am). The facilities of the building were very poor, the swimming pool and changing room were very cold.

The apartment exceeded expectations with its exceptional location, providing easy access to nearby attractions. The hotel offered a vibrant and engaging atmosphere, making it ideal for leisure. Cleanliness was maintained to high standards, ensuring a pleasant stay. The accommodation is a good value, particularly for families of three, offering comfort and convenience within their budget.

The primary concern raised was the quality of the beds and pillows, as they were reportedly uncomfortable. It was noted that the mattresses resembled cot mattresses and the pillows were particularly hard. Efforts to address this issue could enhance overall comfort levels.

The ‘apartments’ (not hotel) ticks quite a few ‘quick wins’ … directly opposite the slopes, so ski in/ out is an option. When you ski in you can go directly to the bar and enjoy the big screen, or sit outside and chill with some music or get ready to restaurant. Great underground car park on arrival - definitely selfdrive hire to this hotel (roads/toll east peasy), ski lockers are fab too. Balcony views are stunning, get that camera ready. Room layouts work well for 4. The sink is separate to the toilet / shower which means 2 people can get ready simultaneously! Lots of lovely care products to use! Loved the dining room / cooking area. If you are on a self-built budget holiday - well done this is a steal! I cooked loads, big fridge too! Lots of equipment to cook with! Staff are VERY kind, and VERY helpful. The staff are quick to learn the guests and engage; this is nice - didn’t feel like a number! Breakfast is a must if you have the pennies!

The apartments boast a spa and swimming pool, with gym. The 300 guest space has a sauna for 4. Exactly!!!! The Application to access spa facilities for the sauna is VERY inconsistent and you can’t book a massage through it anyway! It’s an Application that doesn’t work with ease and face to face bookings are NOT entertained (I miss people). Good luck trying to spa after a day on the slopes! What a missed opportunity- this could have the WOW factor! It does need a few touches of TLC, like any 40+ year old.., you know what I’m saying. It’s aging in style since the Olympics! So … many of the reviews are misweighted, if you are not a fan of long half term ski lift queues, if you’ve just about conquered blue/reds - this is a step up from Bulgaria - I can suggest …book here!

I am very, very disappointed with my booking at the Villaggio Olimpico. At the time of booking I specifically requested a room within block F of the hotel. Upon arrival I was allocated block A. Access to the ski slopes was much more difficult from Block A, which is why I had requested Block F. We could not check in until 5pm despite all of the booking information saying that it was from 4pm. When we entered the apartment, it was not fully cleaned - we had to re-clean. any areas ourselves. The room was also without some important items that had been advertised as included including a microwave and a PS3 games console. I asked at Reception to move apartments to block F as this is what we had state our original booking. Only at this stage was I informed that the booking I had made was not with the Hotel Villagio Olimpico, but with a private owner called Claudio who has the apartment as a timeshare! Therefore they could not change my apartment. And that if I had any complaints I must go via Claudio. This was not what I had signed up for. I feel I have been misled by Booking.com. It took 24 hours to get a replacement microwave. I messaged Claudio and he responded to say he didn’t know what a PS3 is, despite it being listed on the website as included within the apartment. The listing also says that ski storage is included within the hotel - the apartment holds up to six people, but there is only storage for two pairs of skis and not the four that we required. Again, Reception were unable to help. The hotel information states that children are under 18’s, but when we attended the hotel restaurant they stated that my 14 and 17 year old children would be charged adult prices. A mini market is listed as being within the hotel, but there isn’t one! Our overall experience has been extremely poor and I will never use booking.com again, as I can’t trust that this experience will not be repeated.

This is a nice apartment in a very large complex. The slopes are just over the road from the front door, bu it's a long walk to get to the front door

The original booking stated that payment could be made on arrival using credit card, but less than a week before departure we were told this was not possible and would need to either make a transfer or take cash. In the end I made a transfer and all was well, but it was stressful! The apartment is well stocked with many (mis-matched) plates but is very short on cups.

The apartment was a good size, clean, comfortable and great location with great views

As a self catering accommodation whilst it had a hob, fridge microwave and dishwasher with plenty of utensils the one item of equipment it was missing was a toaster which would have made breakfast so much more enjoyable for us

Good slope access, only a short walk. Much better than most of Sestriere where accommodation is a long way from the skiing and there's no resort bus. A beautiful view from the apartment.

It would have been nice to be able to access the parking from the morning of the day we arrived, given the chaos that is parking in Sestriere.

People at front office were extremely kind !
