Hotel Rural Peña Castil

As English travellers new to learning the Spanish language, our host was very accomodating and patient with our very limited knowledge of the language. The location is fantastic with mountain views and is a great place to start the hike to either Bulnes or the Refugio Urriellu/ Vega Terrenosa from the free, public car park.

We stayed for two nights at the start of our motorbike tour. Both bikes parked outside the hotel and very safe. Restaurant was perfect. Looking forward to returning. Thank you.

We arrived by motorbike and wanted to be able to walk from the doorstep without riding anywhere, you could easily spend a week at this hotel and do that. The breakfasts and evening meals were really good and the staff were really nice and couldn't have been more helpful. I would definitely recommend it and would book again if we stayed in the village again.

This would be more of a culture comment than a comment on this hotel. Spain isn't the easiest country for vegetarians, as eating meat is a big part of their culture. For us, just the offer of meat or cheese for breakfast would have been very welcome, the same would go for one hot evening meal without meat or fish. As I say, we find the same wherever we are in Spain and this is not a complaint about this hotel.
