A great countryside stay in a charming villa with farm animals immersed in olive groves

The location of Villa Fontana is amazing - right next to Lake Trasimeno, close to some of the most charming places in the Tuscany hills (Montepulciano, Cortona, Pienza, Arezzo), and the most popular destinations in the whole of Umbria (Città della Pieve, Orvieto, Panicale in the south, Castiglione, Passignano, Trasimeno islands around the lake, and then going east Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio). Not a bad spot for longer drives to Siena, Firenza and Roma. On top of the superb location, to add that the agriturismo has plenty of charm: a spectacular infinity pool with view on surrounding countryside, a pretty garden with olive trees and lavender, farm animals for the little ones to feed and admire, a beautiful looking Italian villa with traditional interiors and a well equipped game room for all guests, great shaded parking.

Our stay was great and we had all comforts needed. However, our apartment (Gelsomino) featured some not so comfy bathrooms, with a leaky shower whose screen was not exactly new and wobbly bathroom fixtures. The gas/gpl kitchenette was also quite temperamental and sometimes would not work. I guess they will be next on the list of renovations and ongoing work in the property, but worth to notice that they were not high standard. Not the end of the world - as I said, our stay was comfortable and we had all we needed, even a good washing machine, but these little things if improved, would increase the rating to 10.

Bardzo piekna willa. Mimo dużego upału basen i klimatyzacja pozwalają przyjemnie spędzać czas. W pelni wyposazona kuchnia. Cisza i piękny ogród. W okolicy wiele pięknych miejsc i dobrych restauracji. Gospodarz szybko odpowiadał na moje wiadomości.

Materace w mniejszej sypialni mogłyby być lepiej przytwierdzone do łóżka, ale to szczegół.

La tranquillità,la posizione con una vista magnifica del lago e soprattutto la cortesia.Siamo stati accolti con gentilezza,abbiamo soggiornato in uno degli appartamenti con balcone e finestre provvisti di zanzariere , aria condizionata ,biancheria per il letto, asciugamani grandi e piccole,e una piccola cucina ben accessoriata.Siamo stati veramente bene,grazie.

Villa della Fontana è un po' fuori mano,devi per forza spostarti con la macchina. Per raggiungere la località più vicina che è Castiglione del lago ci vogliono più o meno 10 minuti di macchina.Ma per noi non è stato un problema,ci si arriva facilmente.
