Ashnil Samburu Camp

It was Next to the River and You could See Elephants come to graze and drink water from the comfort of the Hotel. The Staff especially Daniel was Amazing . Very Hospitable and helpful. The food was great but overpriced . Breakfast was also good with different options to choose from.

It’s so dissapointing that the Location they have pinned both on their Google Website and Booking.com is wrong . You end up washing alot of time trying to locate where the Camp is located . We had to drive looking for the Camp for more than 2 hours since we got to Archers Camp . In Addition the contact provided is also a false contact . I called more than 10 times and nobody ever picked the call . Ended up arriving at the Camp around 10pm and that was after I got help from the Security personell in the Park ( Not Part of the hotel). The Manager came to Check on out wellbeing , and even confirmed the number was Not theirs . I had expected she would give the Right contact number but she didn’t Even bother . They also know that the Location pinned is not the Right one but they havent changed . That means they are ignorant. I would Not recommend someone to go to This Camp honestly . I have checked upto today( A month after my Visit) they havent changed the contact Details and the Location as well . The staff only showed concerned on the time of arrival on Day 1 . The other days nobody cared if we were okay or not .

Ambience

Lack of WiFi and stable mobile connection.

Beds were comfortable, showers had good pressure and was hot. Ladies at reception were very helpful and friendly, Our waiter was lovely and attentive. Food was generally very good. Bar was well stocked.

No one could give us information about where to game drive and where the animals where. Location is right on the river but unfortunately you don't have any views of the river, just a wall and the top of opposite river bank. Staff in the kitchen were noisy during meal times. Baked goods all tasted of blueband and were often stale, brown bread was mouldy one morning. Dining room was dark and curtains closed, full of mosquitos, insect repellant provided but didn't work. It was rainy when we were there so our towels didn't dry, would be good to have somewhere to hang them better to dry in damp weather or for housekeeping to dry them.

Place is great - great views, great staff!

Bed bugs in the room left me a little uncomfortable for a few days! Thought it was just mosquito bites (which i also had, but cant avoid that!) - had to see a Dr in Nairobi as bites got infected.
