Our first lodge wasn’t cleaned at all. Housekeepers gone home. Then moved to another was cleaned but wasn’t ready for us leaves not sweeped hot water not on took 2 hours to heat up.

Location

The shower only got hot for like 2 minutes in shower then would be freezing and wouldn’t get hot again so I had to have cold shower when we got there and me and my partner both had to have cold shower in the morning as wouldn’t get hot

Wonderful classy hideaway for a short break

Beautiful setting with lovely cabins well spaced out in well kept grounds. Our cabin (Shepherd Lodge) had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean and had a really good shower and a very comfortable bed.

It was a little difficult to find. We were given plenty of warning so not a big surprise but maybe a few signs along the way could help. We also found the heating and cooling system difficult to get to grips with. The A/C instructions were not that easy to follow but once we'd worked it out it did the job. The electric fire made a lot of noise but didn't work. This was not a problem given the A/C performance.

Loved the Hut, grounds and location.

Beautiful location, especially in good weather. Heating system good, once we realised how to work it. Comfortable bed, microwave, and cleanliness. Good toilet flush and hot water. Coffee, tea and milk sachets.

We would have liked 2 pillows. They were delivered when we asked, after having a night with a stiff neck! But we weren't told where they were, so missed a second night without them. No clothes storage space or hangers. Shower head did not spray outwards so we had to stand close to the pipework to shower. Rather small bath towels.

Lovely location. Nice and cosy

No basic stuff was provided shampoo or body wash or even fairy to wash the dishes with. No coffee or teabags water or milk. These I assumed would have been included at the very basic level

Enchanted! will visit again for sure.

Easy to find on Google Maps even though slightly out of the way. The 2-bed Cottage was fabulous, highly recommended for a family of 4. The cottages are based in a fabulously-landscaped area amid woodlands, dotted with small ponds, an indoor swimming pool, tennis court, clubhouse with adjacent gardens. Worth every penny, i will def. return.

The bed in the smaller cottage was very compact and raised to a height that was a bit un-natural and took time getting used to.

The property was beautiful, very clean inside and outside. The location is so peaceful,and it felt like a home away from home. Would stay here again and again.

Perfect secluded oasis

Chycara was simply beautiful, the staff were so friendly & informative. The huts were very well appointed. The grounds were stunning, the facilities were excellent. We booked 2 huts, one for a couple & one for an elderly gentleman. The beds were beautifully clean & fresh if very soft! One pillow was left for each person, unfortunately it was not advertised that extra pillows were available under the beds! The TV didn't work in one of the huts but that wasn't a problem to us as it was so lovely to be sitting outside. We hope to return in the not too distant future for 2 or 3 nights. Unless you have one of the larger lodges it's possibly not suitable for a week or two's holiday but perfect for 2 or 3 nights. The situation is very secluded yet very accessible & central to mid Cornwall, perfect for Truro & Falmouth.

Mattresses were a bit soft but that's just a preference.

Short stay to celebrate our daughters graduation. Lovely nearly pub with great food

Nice quiet location. decent sized accommodation. Easy enough to get a taxi into Falmouth.

There were a few issues, all of which were unacceptable. The place had loads of cobwebs and it felt like it hadn't been entered for a while. Down the sides of the unit in the lounge were several dead flies and it obviously was used to being hoovered, same with behind the TV unit. There was a lamp in the dining area, I went to plug it in to find the top casing of the plug was missing. If a child had tried this it would have been super dangerous. The main gas stove didnt work (same stove we have at home so used to working with it). The main shower has issues too, the head was duck taped on and in use the majority of the water escaped here. Plenty of DVD's to watch but NO DVD player, very odd. Only one large frying pan with a rather dodgy handle.

A Pleasant Experience.

The site itself was beautiful and peaceful. It gave me a Very different experience to what I usually expect from a stop over for work, which was nice.

It was a bit out the way for where I was working, and the country lanes to the site were a bit tight especially for the evening return journey from Truro.

Perfect setting spolied

Potentially tranquil setting spoiled by firm sandblasting paint off an adjoining lodge at 8.30. The owner came and stopped them and personally hosed down our car which was covered in fine debris.

Dirty utensils and a bathroom door which could not be shut spoiled an otherwise charming and perfectly equipped, well thought out space. And of course because the bathroom door did not shut the noise from ? A heat pump penetrated the cabin.

The location was quiet and restful with lovely green surroundings. The cabin was bright and modern. There were basic kitchen facilities

The space was quite compact but it would have been good to have had racks for suitcases. There was also no guest laundry facilities which we had to drive several miles into town to find.

Lovely location spoiled by the attitude of the owner

Lovely. well-maintained grounds

The condescending and superior attitude of who we assume is the owner. We had difficulty in finding what passes for the "reception", due to having entered by the "Main Entrance", as directed by the road signage, and there was no-one and no signage to help when we wandered around the non-accommodation area of the site. When we eventually stumbled across the "reception", we were made to feel like fools for having had any difficulty. A thoroughly unpleasant person, with a "To the Manor Born" attitude. The site requires a map, which we didn't receive and she didn't bother to provide.

Nice accommodation but could be better equipped

Huge unit. Lots of space in both living space and bedrooms. Very quiet site albeit out of the main holiday season. Easy parking adjacent to unit

Bedroom bathroom a bit smelly of drains. Kitchen equipment a bit sparse. Oddly had ice tongs and sieve but not a sharp knife.

Idyllic location

We had a cabin overlooking a small meadow with a stream close by. You couldn't hear any traffic. We sat on the verandah and watched the birds. Idyllic. Cabin was cosy and charming.

A beautiful, tranquil setting and quite close to the truro city centre. Cottages are great.

The setting of the place is very pretty and the cottages themselves are very well maintained and comfortable.

Location is a bit off track with some precarious roads to drive down. if you're not near a lay-by you may have to reverse back up the road so both cars can pass.
