Artist Guest House

For a hostel, it’s great! Yeah, you need to share a bathroom and a kitchen with the other residents but both the kitchen and bathroom were in great condition. The room itself was small and minimal but the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The room was clean. There is a bathroom with 3 separate showers and sinks, and then two other separate toilets, plenty to go around. There is also a shared hair dryer available. Kitchen is well equipped and clean. The host was very polite and very nice. Our room had an excellent view of Budapest and heating. The location is also very good, very close to M4, plenty of bus stops and you can also make your way to the center by foot pretty fast.

Honestly, I do not understand why this place has very low rating. Not only for this place but in general you get what you pay for. There are pictures and it was true to pictures. I would prefer maybe more furniture in the room like a drawer maybe or nightstand. But still it was enough. We did not have any issue with other guests but even if we did, it is not the owner's problem. They can not know what kind of people come before they come. It is in a great location in my opinion. 1 minute walk to metro and tram. Kitchen has everything you need. Bathroom and toilets were okay. You can only enter with passwords so its safe even tho its an old building. I do not think beds were that uncomfortable but yes they make noise, like in every other affordable hotel and guest houses. Also for the person who said "there was only 1 double bed" bruh, you literally can choose what type of room you want. Same with people who say "there was no window in the room". I guess these people do not read anything before they book a room. There is air conditioner in the room so if winter you will be warm, if summer you will be cool. If I go to budapest again, I can stay here again. Also there is a bakery called "Vaj" near, I really recommend it. Most delicious baked goods and sweets. The owner was helpful and you can reach them. Unfortunately i didnt take any pictures but its true to photos.

There could be a nightstand, or drawer maybe. Other than that nothing.

If you are looking for a cheap and clean short stay, this place is very much okay. Location is very comfortable; the house is old, simple; but the apartment is very clean. Staff was not present on site, but communication through email and the app was very fast.

The proximity to M4 metro station, the view over Rakoczi Square and beyond, the proximity to the market hall (opposite the station entrance), the interesting, rather beautiful and characterful old building, the showers in the shared bathroom had good water pressure and temperature and were spacious, there were cups and plates and cutlery to share.

There was no effective curtain or sunlight block or shutter to block out the morning sun. There was a blind but it was ridiculously thin, and the shutter blind was stuck mostly open. I tried to book a second night to have an unbroken stay but I accidentally booked a different room and the property manager was going to make me move my stuff out and wait for 3pm check in to move back in unless I secured a cancellation through the booking platform and rebooted the other room, even though it was only $8AUD difference, which I offered to pay.
