Guest House Masterintrastevere

Fantastic arrival and entrance instructions. Simple place with everything you need, and nice free snacks. Also sent a list of helpful places in the neighborhood.

The room was cleaned and spacious. Good toilet. Indications to arrive where clear and properly done. I saw nobody from the staff so I cannot rate them. Rooms were cleaned everyday. Big bed, enough space, complimentary snacks.

The room was facing a busy street with heavy traffic. The windows were properly isolated but they could not be opened. The counter-window was locked so there was natural light in the room. So the electricity shall always be on when in the room. As I was working during the day, just returning in the night, that was not a problem. But being a windowless room shall be announced in advance. Other visitors may find it annoying. Earplugs were provided to sleep (usuefull point) although the windows isolated well.

Difficult to find initially

The room is actually located in the northern tip of Portuense, and not in Trastevere, which is a calm and peaceful neighborhood, close to cool and less touristy areas.

The place is at street level, which means you cannot open the window without being exposed and can’t have any privacy unless you keep the shutters closed. The street below is pretty dirty and full of cars, in front of a McDonald’s. As a result, the darkness made it unpleasant to stay in the room. There is AC, which is good, but it’s really old and very noisy. The lights are also of the horribly white sort. There was also construction going on, and they only let us know one day in advance (without any compensation, of course) which is really not cool.
