Near the airport. Near the town center. Friendly staff
Wished the cabins had bathrooms inside.

staff was so kind and they always tried to help with everything, location is perfect for seeing auroras, bathrooms and toilets are clean, activities are diverse and so fun.
it is a bit far away from city center if you don’t have a car (almost 1 hour walking distance)

Comfortable wooden cabins close to the frozen river and forest with the northern lights dancing above you.
Expensive rent of bed linens and towel (12€). But you can bring your own and not pay.

Good location.
You need to pay for absolutely everything. Bedlinen, cutlery, plates/glasses…They had a kota available only when paying 50 euros/h. No amenities at all. Yeah they do have a fridge, kettle and microwave inside the cabin but they will charge for a spoon? Additionally, we rented a wooded cabin which was FAKE. You could see it was a concrete wall and they had stuck the logs on top of it. Definitely not worth the price

Location, scenery, staff and beautiful setting
I think maybe water on arrival in the fridge.

The quiet location between towns made for a very pleasant stay. I came here without a car to see the northern lights and had a fantastic night when they appeared and danced right above my cabin for two hours! Though there are some light pollution, it is still a good place to spot them if you don't have a car or not joining any aurora tour. The kitchen and toilet were very clean, and the shower provided a nice, hot flow. The staffs are friendly and very helpful. Great stay!

The staff are super friendly
There is high light pollution, it's not the best place to see auroras

Affordable, easy to access, the kitchen & showers were ok, beds were nice and form
It was very hot and stuffy inside the cottage which made sleeping impossible, location wasn't the best

The stuff was friendly and both the place to wash and the place to sleep were clean and cosy enough.
The 12€ breakfast didn’t have any pancakes, pies or croissants as it was told beforehand which was a letdown.
The bridge over the side river was broken and out of use - depressing. The big river was far behind the motorway.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Toilet and shower facilities were great - really clean and modern.
I mean the room is small, but you get what you pay for. Better suited if you have a car for travel as it's slightly out of town.

The location is beautiful. It’s a bit outside of town and very quiet. The area around is great for walks. We were there in March, so everything was covered in snow. We also loved the little sauna, and the staff was very helpful with booking activities and even arranging a taxi to the airport. We would definitely come back!
It is bit harder to reach it without a car but the bus from Rovaniemi stops right there and it’s also easy to book a taxi to go to the airport.

Very clean and warm cottage. Even if it’s shared bathroom, the toilet and shower were just few meters away from our cottage. Exceeding our expectations!

Helpful staff and convenient location. Toilet/ shower and kitchen facilities were clean. Cabins had fridge, microwave and kettle. Free bicycles to borrow for shopping. Riverside sauna to hire.

The staff was quite kind to me and everything was pretty much solid.
Like everything in Finland, it was more expensive than it is worth, but that is a national issue rather than one specific to this place, which was relatively affordable by comparison. They offer pretty good on-site burgers but there is nothing else nearby.

Although called "River Camping" it might be better to call it "Roadside Camping". The busy road is between where my hut was situated and the river.
I was travelling with public transport and the bus stop is conveniently situated on the busy road right by the campsite. No food shops nearby.
If you are traveling in a vehicle this place might work for you as an overnight stay. If like me you are traveling by bus I think you could find better options

Clean, nice room, enough space.
There is a gas station in front of the camping.
A little bit of kitchen equipment and sink can be also in the room.

Breakfast was very nice, the one person cabin small but warm and cosy. Bathroom/shower building was also very clean and nicely warmed. Owners are very friendly and nice to chat with!

very nice staff, shower room and toilet were so spacious and clean even though its shared! very good breakfast and dinner, nice view next to the river.
nope. but would be even better if bed linen is prepared, its just I dont like to change the bed linen by myself, not a big deal ;)

Everything was clean and functional. Free wi-fi. Nice place. Great staff! They were happy to answer all my questions, helped me get a taxi and were pretty quick to respond to e-mails.
No change of air in the cabin. Extra fees for many things. Hard to reach and hard to get to the airport from there.

Accomodation Is clean, equipment of room ( electric kettle, microwave) and shared kitchen ( stove, pots, dishes) was fine. Staff was very helpful.
Bunk beds are really uncomfortable in upper deck. It's probably suitable for children or small people.

The cabin was so cozy and very warm inside despite winter temperature outside. Breakfast was excellent, I had a lot of fresh vegetables which I did not expect in Lapland during this time of the year.
Basically nothing. The facilities were almost spotless. However, the bathrooms needed to be shared with other guests, they might not be as clean as having private ones which I would not complain.

Wonderful cabin! Very nicely done with love to details - direct sight to the forest, terrasse - it was already my second stay and I can really recommend it. The owners are very friendly and helpful people !

Absolutely perfect for nature lovers. There are various forest trails next to the camping. The cabins are a bit small with only a very small seat, table and fridge. Bed is comfortable if you're not too tall. But its good for a minimalist "close to the nature" experience. In the kitchen and shower building next to the cabin is everything you need to make dinner etc. The reception / restaurant is open from 8u tot 22u and the staff is always friendly to answer your questions. You can have dinner in the restaurant for a good price. the pork steak with mushroom sauce and french fries are good!
Tip: if you want to see the northern light better walk away from the main rood because of the light polution. there is a trail next to the campside going a bit up hill. behind the hill is a smaller trail that leads to the big forest in about 20 minutes walking and there it will be dark enough to see the Aurora Borealis if you're lucky :) .
the bed is a bit on the small size and will be probably too small if your longer then 1.83 meters.

The property is great for a winter wonderland holiday - a nice location close to Ivalo airport, but still in the middle of nature and close to Ivalo River, which is great for aurora hunting. The cabins are very cute and cozy. There is a nice hike that they informed us about that led us to a beautiful viewing point, and they lend you sleds during your stay which was fun. Breakfast is tasty, and the cabins have a water boiler, mini fridge and microwave (on top of a shared kitchen), which makes it easy to make your own meals if you wish to.
There could have been clearer instructions regarding what the check-out procedures are, for instance on the info-sheet given at check-in. Also more communication in terms of closing times of the kitchen, as during the weekends it closed earlier, but we weren't informed of it.

Me and my brother stayed a week at Ivalo River Camping, and I have to say everything was amazing. The whole staff was so welcoming and made us feel like home. Everyone was so nice and kind, it made it difficult to us to say good bye. Minna and Matti are two of the nicest people I have ever met, always there for everything we needed, always with a smile on their faces. The food was incredible, so tasty, especially the Salmon soup and blueberry pie. The smoothness and creamy of Minna’s Salmon soup was an experience worth of trying. This was our first time in Finland, and I dare to say it won’t be the last time thanks to the beautiful experience of staying at this camping. We came chasing Northern Lights (which we got the luck to see on our second night in the camping), but the magic of the trip wouldn’t be complete without the hospitality of the Ivalo River Camping staff. For sure this will be a yearly trip. We can’t wait to come back next year to see our friends once again.
Having to say goodbye to them.

The accommodation was cosy for a solo traveller.
The property itself was excellent however, local places to eat are a good walk away which was a shame when you arrive later in the day

It might be a private parking sign on the hill above warning guests not to park their cars up there
