Red Old House Tromsø Apartment

The location was very central. Our place was very traditional house full of character. The host, Arne, was very generous and provided us with milk upon our late entry and had waiting for us to let us in with the keys, even though we arrived at 1am. He offered us a lot of suggestions of things to do. Upon his suggestion went to the Blå Rock bar for hamburgers and stayed for the live band (a Norwegian Credence Clearwater Rival tribute band). Had a fantastic time with the locals and really enjoyed the band. The place has a comfortable large bed. There are blackout curtains in the bedroom, which we were grateful for as we were there during the midnight sun. We would stay here again.

This can't be changed, but every room has a floor ledge between the rooms, and I stubbed myself a couple of times.

Everything was just perfect. The apartment felt like home and had everything we needed. The location was also good. We would definitely go back.

Fantastic stay! Arne is a wonderful host who provided great local tips. The room is fully functional and the bed is super comfy. Excellent shower pressure and hot water. The location is perfect—within walking distance to the main street, shops, and transport.

Words couldn't possibly describe just how amazing this apartment is. Arne and Elisabeth are wonderful, friendly hosts and they made us feel very comfortable upon our arrival, going out of their way to even let us check in a little earlier than initially planned. The fresh flowers in the living room were a gorgeous touch, and Elisabeth's paintings adorning the walls were so beautiful. Arne's waves from the window as we embarked on our various adventures always made us smile and feel a sense of community during our trip. And the apartment has the cutest kettle I've ever seen! To stay in such a traditional-looking Norwegian home really added so much magic to our first time exploring Tromsø. The apartment itself is the perfect size, compact but not cramped, and it felt so incredibly homely. It really felt for a week that we were living the Norwegian life. It is situated perfectly for exploring the city; when you leave, you're greeted by a calm residential street, without being immediately thrown into the more chaotic tourist-filled areas, whilst only being a couple minutes' walk away from the main street. To stay here really added something extra-special to our visit to Tromsø, and I'd recommend this apartment to anyone considering a holiday here. If you're lucky, you might even see the Northern Lights out of the kitchen window! :D

I didn't like that we only stayed seven nights :( But I'm sure we'll fix that soon enough!
