Amazing time at the pension! The history is intact and we really loved the dinner with the stories and the get together with the other guest.

The hotel is in a historic house, totally preserved. That’s the point in staying there ! Very warm welcome by the host. We had dinner with other guests and it was like being in a family hotel, with the host explaining the hotel history. Charming ! Good food, good breakfast, good bed.

The bathroom was not to today’s standard but impossible to improve given the heritage constraints of the building. Perhaps a bit expensive overall, even to Norwegian standards

One of those places that will always stay in our minds as something unique and will never blur into ‘just another hotel’. As so many previous reviews have stated, the old, old building is quirky and an experience. So interesting and characterful and out of a bygone era. We LOVED it. We dined at the guesthouse during our two night’s stay and enjoyed delicious meals whilst hearing about the history of the building. If you don’t go expecting a 5 star hotel experience I don’t think you will be disappointed. We take away a fascinating tale to tell from this place as opposed to having nothing at all to report from a bland, stereotype, modern hotel.

Great character and location, rather eccentric and historic

Perhaps in need of updating in areas - but don’t lose that character!
