Bali Palms Resort

Loved it was on the beach and walking distance to sleepy Candidassa. The rooms were a small apartment with kitchen, lounge, bathroom and bedroom. The place has a lovely little restaurant/bar with good value meals. Incl breakfast was great.

- Great location, right on the beach just as you come into Candidasa. Walking distance to many restaurants, spas and shops. - Fabulous pool area, really large pool with shallow end for children. Plenty of sun loungers under the shade, and never a problem to get one. - Apartments are clean, spacious and comfortable with comfy beds, a separate lounge area and kitchen, and 2 bathrooms (we booked a 2 bedroom apartment but our room actually had 3 bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other 2 with king single beds. - Good air con and fans in every room. - Lovely outdoor seating area overlooking the pool and gardens, was a lovely spot to sit and relax. - Excellent breakfast, the best we had in our stay spanning 5 locations across Bali and Lombok. The pancakes were delicious. Breakfast included tea/coffee & juice, toast with jams, a plate of fruit, and then a choice of either pancakes, eggs, nasi goreng, or a chicken porridge which we didn’t try. - The staff were warm and welcoming, always helpful and attentive. - There is a restaurant on site with an extensive menu and very reasonable prices. We had lunch on our day of arrival and it was delicious.

We actually really loved it and had virtually no issues. The only feedback I would offer is to consider making the dining area non-smoking, or at least designate most tables (particularly the ones directly facing the ocean under the gazebo)as non-smoking. We were seated there for breakfast one morning and awaiting our meal being served, when a couple sat down at the table right next to us and lit up cigarettes. In our country (Australia) smoking is considered a very disgusting habit, and illegal in all places which serve food. We were there with our young children and would not tolerate people smoking near them, so we had to get up and move tables. So I would recommend that people are not allowed to smoke in the restaurant as it’s really disgusting and bad for other people’s health. The only other thing is that both times we visited the spa on site for a massage, we were turned away as they were too busy. This was disappointing but we were able to get massages down the road.

Nowhere to go for a walk. Beach path under construction and the road out front a nightmare, saving grâce restaurants will pick you up so you don’t run the gauntlet
