Hôtel Les Prateaux

Location excellent Food really excellent (great chef!) fantastic bread choices also (bakery in L’epine) .. with one caveat (the size of the main course could have been larger) Owner (man) helped us with our bags when we arrived Serving good Owner waived bike hire after being reminded he’d forgotten it (very nice touch on the last day)

In mid summer, given there is no air conditioning, a fan should be supplied for each room (all were taken apparently when we came, so we used one we happened to have with us) Sticky door in room 18 could have been seen too (you feared you would damage it when trying to get it open) Although the owners could be very charming and clearly had high standards .. occasionally special requests (for ice cubes, for an early payment of the bill, could we eat outside) were dealt with less positively than we’d have expected given all the other good things .. it made us wonder if they were enjoying their work as much as they might have been in the past (and we wondered how they would have reacted to such comments if they were guests themselves) I would make the external sign (about food) more inviting - it doesn’t match the cleanliness of the hotel or the quality of the food ..

L'impression d'être dans une famille, la cuisine exceptionnelle d'un chef de qualité ( le poisson cuisiné comme cela, c'est de l'art), l'accueil et la gentillesse du personnel, le lieu ( merveilleux pour découvrir NOIRMOUTIER) la proximité des plages emblématique de l'île, la disponibilité des propriétaires pour répondre à nos besoins.

Nous avons adoré la tranquillité de l’hôtel, l’emplacement, l’aménagement extérieur très joli, le confort de la chambre avec sa super terrasse, la propreté (les dames de ménages ont été adorables, très attentives à notre bien être) et nous nous sommes régalés aussi bien au petit déjeuné qu’au dîner. Nous avons eu le privilège de contempler l’éclipse depuis les jardins de l’hôtel… spectacle magnifique dans un cadre idyllique ! Le seul défaut 5 jours c’est trop court.

La connexion TV n’était pas toujours bonne mais ça n’est vraiment qu’un petit détail 😉

Well located, short walk from two beaches. Nice room with private terrace and separate loo.

The man at reception. He was short, didn’t want to give us any restaurant recommendations: he just said it’ll be impossible. At a push, he was happy to fold down some pages of the island’s restaurant guide for us. Disappointing way to welcome guests! Seems he wanted to clock off at 1900. I’d expect a functioning reception and polite staff... The gardens are disappointing: plastic grass (in the middle of a forest!) and furniture.
