New Arapey Hotel

Decent value for money. Hot water, wifi, private bathroom etc.

A bit far away from everything, and the room was pretty small, and cleaning wasn't top notch.

Large room, big comfy bed, great wifi and TV, window, very hot water and a fridge.

Wish there were a light at the desk. Small portable fan would really help.

We were a little dubious when we arrived. It was a Sunday afternoon and the streets were empty apart from a few people partying in the street. The hotel building is a lovely old art deco design. The entrance is wide with a short staircase to the reception desk and elevator. We were given a room on the 3rd floor. The staff were friendly and helpful. The whole hotel smelled of zesty lemon disinfectant. Our room was large and decorated in the style of the era with high ceilings, decorative bay window, parquetry floor, ornate ceiling and architrave moldings. Everything was was clean and comfy. We required parking and the hotel has a deal with a lot a block or two away. Very secure. Whilst this hotel is not in the best part of Montevideo it is close to the old town, and museums and is priced better than it's counterparts in the vicinity.

The only fault was that while everything was very clean, some things were dusty Ie bed head and bench top. This is a minor concern and it just felt like it let the room down a little.

The rooms are very good, with a good bed and bathroom, also they have a tv and a d fridge.

I would say that everything is perfect except for the nasty and very potent smell of naftalina all over the place, and the fact that you are inhaling that all night. I also don't like the fact that you have to do the checkout at 10 am
