It’s absolutely stunning inside! Fantastic food and bar! The staff were incredibly attentive and kind! The beds were great. Clean and quiet rooms. And it’s central to so many things. And the bus is directly across the street!

Really enjoyable place to stay and central to everywhere

We had dinner on the evening we arrived. It was late when we got there but staff ensured we got a meal. There was a wide selection of dishes for breakfast and we really enjoyed it. Room was big, clean and cosy

The guests at the leisure centre take up a large proportion of the car parking spaces at 6pm making it difficult to park if yiu are staying at the hotel.

The stay was amazing the Room was super clean and super big the bed was so cosy the breakfast was amazing and swimming and hot tub was excellent.

a lovely experience. Room large, clean and comfortable. Warm weather and I asked for a fan while checking in and it was delivered straight away. A really comfortable stay. Breakfast next day was organised and well fun and serving staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent service.

Disappointed

We stood at the bar for quite some time with staff walking past us and never acknowledged us, then served others before us. What really spoilt are stay we waited at reception at 10.25 to ask where we had to go for our breakfast and there was a lady infront when she was finished we asked the receptionist where we had to go for breakfast to be told it was 10.32 and we couldn't get it we had to go and pay. I was that disgusted. I walked out and made my way home

Excellent staff and very clean rooms

The majority of staff go out of their way to help - especially the reception and bar staff in the granary bar. Helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. The reception staff offer advice on local things to do as well as practical advice for travelling around. The rooms are lovely and the housekeeping staff do a wonderful job of servicing them - even at short notice! The 3 nights we spent there were relaxed and enjoyable.

The only thing that went wrong was a couple of orders at the old mill restaurant. For dinner our order was incorrect and although the wait staff were very helpful about it, they also asked a lot of questions which was a little uncomfortable. Although we got a discount on the bill, we weren't overly happy with the experience and we ate elsewhere the next 2 nights. Then at breakfast, I was delivered a plate completely different to what I ordered and when I pointed this out, the wait staff were not bothered at all, just said that it was busy and they didn't check the order...

Anniversary stay

A beautiful hotel with very welcoming staff! Free parking at back of the hotel! Our room was at the front of the hotel, looking out over the canal, very spacious and well equipped, air conditioning, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits Wifi is strong throughout the hotel. A fridge with fresh milk and room to store soft drinks. In the corridor there's a fresh filtered water machine which is a lovely touch. The bathroom is large with an over bath shower with luxury shower gel/hand soap/ hand cream. In the wardrobe there are robes and slippers for use in the Spa which has a pool, relaxing beds beside it and very comfortable wicker " pod" chairs (i fell asleep in one for over an hour) Breakfast the next morning was very good, large array of continental dishes, breads and cereals and a choice of cooked breakfasts served by lovely staff.

My only slight criticism are the beds beside the pool, they are quite hard and uncomfortable to lie on, which is why I sat on the big chair! , could definitely do with a mattress on them
