Beautiful building, peaceful location by river, great pool area with bar facilities.

Bedroom dated and too corporate/soulless. Bedrooms don’t match the feel of the communal areas. Clean and functional.

On site bar & restaurant had great food. Great to get a quick dinner at the end of the day after hiking.

Cleaning staff forgot to provide clean towels two of the days.

Stunning building full of interesting areas & history. All common areas, bars & restaurants beautifully decorated.

The food at the main restaurant let the place down however. Checking out took almost an hour as a large wedding crowd was checking in at the same time. They should have planned this much better & had more staff to deal with the overload. Almost an hr in a que to check out is not good at all. Pity.

Outdated bathroom which was not a 100% clean. The spa at €25/pp is overpriced as the facility is outdated and showing signs of wear. We got a price list for the mini fridge but the fridge was empty. The staff of the restaurant/bar was not very kind. The restaurant seating area feels like a canteen more than a “cosy place”, next to this the price/quality of the restaurant is horrible, you can’t sit outside, and the staff is uninterested in you as a customer. Overall the place looks amazing from the outside and at the reception, but as soon as you enter you realise it’s not the same all throughout. It’s been made too large and too busy to feel special and continue that feeling of the first impression.
