Hotel Kirchspiels Gasthaus

The room was very clean, however there were two big steps to the bathroom which is difficult at night . There were not tea and coffee making facilities in the room and no usb point which I feel are essentials for travellers.

Tea and coffee in room and usb charging point. We were disappointed with the breakfast as it had good reviews but we would expect fresh fruit juice (I have never been to any other hotel that doesn’t have fresh fruit juice/has dilute squash/juice and I feel this is very outdated and should be upgraded) The eggs were cold and then ran out and were not replenished. There was no ham on the breakfast buffet (only pastrami). Dinner in the hotel was very formal and expensive (particularly for travellers) perhaps offer something like a burger, pasta etc we went to the Italian restaurant in the town which was very nice but some travellers may not want to leave the hotel but want a simpler meal option.

Very helpful staff on arrival even though we arrived at an awkward time. Great storage for our bicycles. Our room was excellent with good size and two seater and table. The meal we chose was a mini menu and excellent presentation and flavors. The breakfast was also well above average and i think ranking at the hotel at 3 stars is under my previous experience. I think it is more 3.5 or 4 stars. It appears the owners run it or have very good staff as their quality of service was above normal. Well done!!

Location was excellent - close to restaurants and shops . Free onsite parking. Restaurant onsite had excellent dinner and breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. No elevator but only one flight of stairs up. We loved this small family owned hotel.
