We ended up not staying. First room we were given STANK of stale cigarette smoke, clearly from whoever had been in there before. They did kindly manage to find us an alternative room, but we made the decision to just take the hit and cancel there and then and continue on our drive for another 3 hours. We had a small meal in the restaurant which is actually very nice - clearly the star of the show with the hotel a distant after thought.
First room was a disaster - receptionist agreed on the smell. We didn’t end up staying.
