Koru One — Spacious Lakeside Cottage at Lake Rotoiti
Welcome to Koru One, a comfortable and well-equipped two-storey lakeside cottage overlooking beautiful Lake Rotoiti at Okere Falls, just a short drive from Rotorua.
Koru One is a spacious family-friendly holiday cottage with beautiful lake views, two bathrooms, comfortable living areas and excellent facilities for both short breaks and longer stays.
It is a wonderful base for families and couples wanting to enjoy the peace and natural beauty of Lake Rotoiti while being close to the many attractions and activities of the Rotorua area. for a second family/friends inquire about add on our second cottage
Please note that this is a peaceful holiday home and is definitely not a party house. We ask guests to respect the quiet setting and our neighbours.
THE COTTAGE
Koru One is a two-storey, 2½-bedroom cottage with comfortable accommodation for families and groups.
Ground Floor
The main living area has lovely views towards Lake Rotoiti and includes a comfortable lounge, dining area and a separate covered alfresco dining and entertaining room.
The lounge has a 52" LCD TV, comfortable couches, a sofa bed and a Lazy Boy armchair. There is a modern gas heater and a heat pump/air-conditioning unit for year-round comfort.
The separate alfresco room has a six-seat dining table, comfortable seating and a lake view — a lovely place to enjoy meals or relax while taking in the scenery.
Fully Equipped Kitchen
The modern kitchen is well equipped for guests who enjoy cooking during their stay.
Facilities include:
• Four-burner gas hob
• Electric oven
• Microwave
• Large fridge/freezer
• Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer dishwasher
• Air fryer
• Pots, pans, crockery and cutlery
• A good selection of cooking equipment
There is also additional refrigerator and freezer space in the laundry. plus an extra Loo!
Ground-Floor Master Bedroom
The comfortable master bedroom has a queen bed, 42" LCD TV and wall fan.
Ground-Floor Bathroom
The tiled bathroom includes a separate shower, vanity basin, WC and heated tiled floor.
Laundry
The laundry is particularly useful for families and longer stays and includes:
• Automatic washing machine
• Automatic dryer
• Extra refrigerator
• Extra freezer
• Additional WC/toilet
• Vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies
UPSTAIRS
The upstairs area can be reached either by the internal spiral staircase or by the external covered stairs.
The main upstairs bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and two additional single/bunk beds, making it a great family sleeping area. There is also a 42" LCD TV and wall fan.
Additional Children's Room with a view!
Off the upstairs bedroom is a cosy additional room with a double bed and a single bed.
This room has a low doorway and a steeply raked ceiling, so it is particularly suitable for children or shorter guests. Please take care when entering.
Upstairs Bathroom
The upstairs bathroom has:
• Separate shower
• Bath with a beautiful lake view
• Vanity basin
• WC
• Heated tiled floor
The bath is a lovely place to relax while enjoying the view across the lake.
LAKESIDE SETTING
One of the special features of Koru One is its location at Lake Rotoiti. and a second cottage for Family or friends
The lake provides a wonderful setting for relaxing, fishing, boating, swimming and enjoying the surrounding scenery. The nearby Okere Falls area is also famous for outdoor activities and the Kaituna River.
Subject to the required waiver, guests may use the recreational equipment provided for the cottages, including kayaks, a rowing dinghy, surfboards.
Please do not drag watercraft over the concrete. Use the wheels provided where appropriate.
Life jackets and water safety are the responsibility of guests and all recreational equipment is used at the guest's own risk.
There is also a jetty and boat ramp, subject to suitability for your particular boat and trailer.

Children are welcome, but as the property is directly beside the lake, parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children around the water, jetty, stairs and outdoor areas.

Great location
Hired both houses for our family and had the best Xmas stay right on the water front.
The houses are supplied with everything you could possibly need. Friendly owners and very helpful.
Plenty of room for boat and jetskis.
Very clean and accomodating highly recommend.

We had a great time here. Bach has all equipment you could possibly need. Great for 2 families staying together. Boat ramp allows easy access to the lake. Easy to find and quiet location

As advertised, nice property, good facilities.
Just a couple of very minor things - spices in space rack seem about a decade old and faulty wiring on one of the bedside lamps. But not worried about those minor things - Overall great stay, happy to recommend to others.

This little cottage has character. Situated on the lake, it is peaceful and beautiful. There is a shared drive with the neighbouring cottages on each side. As described there are 2 cottages joined by a common covered sitting area and shared front door. We stayed in Koura 1 which was plenty of space for us 4 adults. Kitchen was well stocked. Communication was a bit of a challenge at first. We did not receive arrival instructions until 8pm so we ended up going to the neighbor who shared the caretaker Mike’s contact info. Mike was very helpful over the phone walking us through entry and basic instructions about our stay. Overall would recommend staying here if you want a quiet spot out of the busy touristy Rotorua, but easily accessible at approx 20mins drive away.
