THE RESIDENCE (ENTIRE VILLA)
Bellevue Terrasse offers you tropical living on two independent levels, each of them with a vast covered verandah. With its multiple pliable French doors, the inside and the outside living space blend into each other seamlessly, permitting to relax in the tropical breeze of the trade winds and enjoying alfresco dining.
Bellevue Terrasse’s architecture is based on the traditional tropical island concept of open spaces, surrounded by generous verandahs and covered by a spacious roof structure, as it is common in the Grenadines Islands.
Built by craftsmen from the island from a variety of local materials, the ceramic tiles from Italy, the enchanting alabaster lamps and the artwork from Latin America are all blending in in harmony.
At Bellevue Terrasse you will find a place which embraces tradition and luxury, always in consideration of the surrounding nature – by its choice of natural colours, the careful landscaping and the unspoiled local vegetation.
NOTE: THIS IS THE LISTING FOR BELLEVUE TERRASSE (ENTIRE RESIDENCE). In case you are interesting in renting a single floor only (either the upper floor or the lower floor), please refer to the separate listing for this option. Even if you rent a single floor, you always will be the only party at Bellevue Terrasse.
UPPER FLOOR
About two thirds of the upper floor are dedicated to an extensive lounge area, with a fully equipped modern kitchen, a kitchen bar which seats up to 4 and a round dining table for up to 8 guests. You also can enjoy watching numerous international TV channels from a comfortable sofa in the same area.
Behind a partition wall you will find a spacious, air-conditioned master bedroom with a canopy bed and an en-suite bathroom with a natural face-stone shower.
The open space above the separation wall, the ceiling fans under the tent-like roof structure, as well as the 5 sets of French doors provide you with an unmatched flow of fresh air during day and nighttime.
Your preferred place will be the huge open verandah which integrates seamlessly with the upper floor rooms through the wide French doors. From here you can enjoy spectacular sunrises and overlook the entire Spring Bay and its surrounding tropical sceneries - or just unwind and relax in a hammock or on a comfortable chaise lounge ...
LOWER FLOOR
The lower floor has 2 bedrooms with 4-post canopy beds and en-suite bathrooms, which are fully air-conditioned. French doors off both bedrooms provide easy access to the pool deck and garden deck.
Separating the bedrooms is a convenient kitchenette and living area, with French doors leading to a spacious covered verandah and the pool deck.
POOL
The naturally shaped pool equally fits the needs of small children and adult swimmers. The ample pool deck on its outer limits is protected with a solid hardwood railing, to assure the safety of the dwellers of Bellevue Terrasse.
Relax in the lounge chairs under the sun on the pool deck – or in the shadow of the downstairs verandah, enjoy the beautiful view over Spring Bay and the islands of Battovia and Baliceaux on the horizon, and listen to the sounds of the surrounding nature… vacation at its best!
GARDEN DECK
The spacious garden deck connects with the pool deck through the lower floor verandah. Equipped with romantic lighting, a sink and a separate outdoor table set, this is the place to gather with your friends or to enjoy a dinner in a lush tropical setting or directly under the stars in the tropical sky.
Embedded in a tropical garden, and with a direct pathway into the surrounding untouched forests, you can’t be closer to nature than here!
LANDSCAPE AND GARDEN
At Bellevue Terrasse we tried to minimize the impact on the surrounding virgin vegetation, which can be explored on several nature trails throughout the extended property of about 2 ½ acres (about 10,000 square meter). There you might encounter the noisy but impressive chacala birds (rufous-vented chacala, ortalis ruficauda) which can be found in the entire Caribbean besides the Northern part of Bequia only in few other locations.
In the gardens around the residence you will find a beautiful selection of newly planted hibiscuses in all imaginable colours, ixoras, alamandas, bougainvilleas, crotons, buttercups, palm trees, heliconias, strelitzias, as well as the typical frangipani tree. The new little orchard soon will provide mangos, oranges, limes, mandarines, avocados, starfruits, guvas, passionfruits, bananas, breadtree fruits and a variety of other local fruits for the table.
SERVICES
When you rent Bellevue Terrasse, you will be greeted by our property manager, who will be your point of contact for any possible trouble and services provided.
For your comfort, the property manager can purchase for your groceries for the first dinner and breakfast (please specify in advance, this service will be provided at cost plus a small service fee).
There is a weekly house cleaning service and pool management included in our offer (if you want to be helped more frequently, please let us know so we can arrange for it).
We also can organize for you pick-up at the airport or ferry station, as well as a rental car with a trusted partner.
Further amenities included:
- high speed internet access
- mobile phone (for use with prepaid cards, you can refill locally)
- laundry room with washing machine and dryer
- 2 child cots (available on request)

Pre-communication with owner (Peter) and property manager (Sabine) was so helpful and put me at ease regarding planning. Upon arrival Sabine met us to ensure everything was in working order, had pre-shopped for us and had the house open. During our stay Sabine was available and super helpful with information. The landscape and view from Bellevue Terrasse was breathtaking. Perfect location because the sun rises and sets across the property giving ample sun but a cross breeze and shade everyday. The location. The house is comfortable for 6 adults (no twin beds a positive for us). Three full bedrooms and baths and the two on the bottom are identical. Although we had every amenity, some of the appliances were old and a little updating is needed. We were there to connect with our heritage as this was the birthplace of my dad’s grandfather. Regarding Bequia BE PREPARED for very narrow one lane roads and LOTS AND LOTS OF STEEP HILLS

While the property was amazing, there is so much more to praise: the owner, the property manager, support services/people, the location, and the house.
Peter (the owner) was incredibly easy to work with and most helpful. Our friends had been to Bequia years earlier, but we had not. Peter sent us info about COVID travel regulations, as well as the easiest way to navigate the process of arriving and departing from the island. I never asked a question he didn't answer, and his answers were right on point. High marks here.
Sabine (the local property manager) was just wonderful. Even though we arrived on the Monday after Easter, she had our requested list of provisions - some of which got us through our first few meals, and some got us through the entire week there. She kept in touch, brought a few other things we needed, helped us get acclimated to the controls for the house, the provided cell phone for local calls, and was available but not obtrusive. High marks here also.
Peter referred us to Gideons Taxi for car rental and taxi services. Bronte was most helpful in arranging our rental car (delivered to the house), scheduling our airport pickup and transport to the house, obtaining my local driving permit, and our early morning departure taxi ride to the ferry. Jenson was our taxi driver with Gideon and he was just great. From collecting us at the airport and getting us to the house, to bringing us to dinner and back in the evenings (so the driver could sample the different varieties of rum punch available), to collecting us before 6am on our last day so we could make the early ferry to St Vincent, he was amazing. Dependable, courteous, easy to work with - High marks here also.
Bequia is a beautiful island with friendly people. We never encountered anyone who was unkind, and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. The view from the house couldn't have been more breathtaking.
And finally, the house - Bellevue Terrasse is most appropriately named. The view in every direction is wonderful. We rented the entire house and loved every minute of our stay. The upstairs living area, kitchen, and outdoor area was spacious, well equipped, and very comfortable. All 3 of the bedrooms (1 up and 2 down) were en suite, spacious and very comfortable. The pool was very inviting. This property is well maintained and was a joy to stay in. High marks here also.
