Kilcreeny Lodge

Kilcreeny Lodge did not exceed my expectations as I’ve been before & know it’s top quality. I visit NI often and just need a comfortable bed, I struggle to justify £100 + per night for this. In my experience Kilcreeny Lodge is the best accommodation in NI. You can likely find similar but at a much higher rate. You do need your own transport, car/bicycle, as taxi to Lisburn transport hub is £16 and I didn’t see any buses near. Lovely large house in beautiful quiet surroundings, the central sweeping staircase on entry is a marvel. Lots of quiet comfortable lounge space if you want to relax at home, I was out and about travelling/ visiting, you’re well placed to explore the 6 counties, I focused on Down, fabulous country road (sometimes narrow) driving. Jim is a charming host, puts you at your ease and on hand if wanted for any accommodation. I thought I may need to do some clothes washing, but didn’t, Jim happy to facilitate. I would pay the £ rate without breakfast, yet breakfast is included and as impressive as it is delicious. Fried breakfast, vegetarian option, that I would pay £20 for ordinarily. Also fruit and cereal. Nice shower, I had shared bathroom & didn’t see anyone else use it. Comfortable bed.

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent facilities, such as tea and coffee in the evening available. Very quiet and comfortable, and reasonable price. This is the third time I've stayed at Kilcreeny Lodge, and I intend to book again next year.

The owner Jim was exceptional.I needed an earlier breakfast(yes before the normal time of 7)and he was so accommodating.In fact i never tasted such nice bacon(A wee added bonus) I also was in very late from the venue I was attending and waited up on my return that night

I couldn't say there was anything I didnt like.Jim booked my taxi for the 1st morning with Paul and I was able to book my next 2 mornings on my 1st journey.
