Good value basic hotel but you might need ear plugs

Staff are very friendly and helpful, good variety breakfast buffet. Very basic but clean hotel. Only 10 minutes by taxi/car from the airport.

Our room was on the front so the constant loud noise of traffic all night long made it difficult to sleep. Have stayed before in a quieter room on the back, but despite requesting a quiet room, ended up with a noisy one.

Very clean and spacious room. Modern design. Location is near airport. Breakfast was good with various food options. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. He helped me with ordering food for my room from an outside fast food restaurant.

The bed was comfortable.

The hotel smelled like a giant ashtray. There was a lot of noise from the toad in front of the hotel. We asked for a non smoking room but we were placed in a smoking room!

Perfect spot to relax after a long day of airports and planes

As we came in, the service was impeccable. The receptionists guided us to the room and brought our suitcases up for us. The room was spacious, clean, had good AC, and a nice big bathroom. Breakfast was traditional turkish, as it should be. After a long travel by plane, this hotel allowed us to feel fully relaxed.

The hotel is located 5km far from the airport and near the motorway.

The room was small and the toilet too. A strong and persistent cigarette smoke smell in the room. Breakfast was quite good even if mainly salty. A very small car parking present and if there is no place enough the cars are parked by the staff in the street behind the hotel.

Cleanliness

It says it has a bar and restaurant but it doesn't. Just a breakfast room, and a very Limited breakfast. I asked for a cappuccino one morning and was told abruptly there is no cappuccino as the machine was broken. Staff not very polite. Wires showing around the hairdryer cord so I didn't didn't use it. Pull down window blind was brocken. Bed very lumpy so not a good sleep.

Misleading advertisement/false information by booking.com!!! “Hakcan" is listed in booking.com as Hotel, but in reality it is Otel! Those who have traveled to Turkey know the huge difference between Hotel - with good service, rooms with normal sizes and some extras, cleanliness, good breakfast but the big difference Otel - a place where you can sleep for one night without any comfort. For those who have not traveled to Turkey: be careful, do not trust and do not use Otel, and in Izmir I would not recommend Hakcan Otel. Room: room size was more of a "corridor"! Comfort: 0 points! Cleanliness: -1 points! Breakfast: enough to say that there is! Staff: Always “busy” and Bored! Prices: extremely high for "nothing" received!

Started out terrible but did get better once we figured everything out.

Friendly staff

Traffic noise at night is bad. Shower is designed where a lot of water escapes outside of shower door and you have to use towels to clean up. We were there in December and hotel does not allow you to control thermostat. The first night was unbearable (84 degrees) in room. We called and they said they would change. We woke up at 3:30 in the morning and walked down to front desk. They dropped it lower but never told me a wall heater was also on the wall in room. I finally figured that out around 4:00 and turned off. Very little sleep that night. Next night was much better but sill opened room window until I was ready to go to sleep. Couldn’t keep open due to traffic noise.
