About this cabin rental

You will be 'glamping' in a small but sweet cabin with a very comfortable queen bed and beautiful views over the lagoon from the French doors of your cabin and personal deck. Your own attached bathroom with outdoor shower with hot water, basin and toilet, and a simple kitchen. The facilities are simple but charming and comfortable. Listen to the sound of the sea at night. The surrounding nature is a highlight.

There is a small kitchen with fridge, toaster oven and microwave, cooking equipment. I provide kitchen basics.

Note there is no TV, or sound devices instead watch the dusk and sunset over the lagoon ans listen to the sound of the sea and the birds. There is an outdoor shower with hot water and privacy. A charming bathroom with sink with hot water and toilet. Ask me about a reduced price for one person. The nature of the property and access to facilities are not suitable for someone with mobility issues or very young children. Perfect for a quiet solo retreat. Feel safe and let your creativity flow if you’re a writer, artist or photographer.

I usually swim in the sea with a group of friends at 9:30am and guests are welcome to join in.

I'm happy to provide information about the area and recommend the local wineries. Pamphlets and maps provided.

Haumoana is a small semirural beach village. There is a dairy and a well stocked Four Square nearby, many vineyards, wineries and cafes. There is no public transportation so a car is advisable. It is located 20 minutes from Napier and 10 minutes from Havelock north. I'm located directly on a network of bicycle tracks that go for many kilometers through vineyards and by the sea. You can bike on off-road bike paths along the sea to Napier, the Art Deco City, Havelock a North, or Hastings.

Getting Around

There is no public transport. I am happy to pick you up at the bus station or airport and bring you out here. The grocery store is a 10 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride.there are two bicycles available for your convenience.

Special conditions:
Because of steep bank down to the lagoon property is not suitable for young children.

Smoking fine outside. No candles can be used in cabin.

There are two complimentary bicycles for guests.

Minimum stay is three nights. I'm often not able to accommodate same day bookings.

Extras: Cleaning (Required, NZ$40.00 per stay); Linen (included);

Check out 11am.

This was, as perfectly implied by the advertising, a 'permanent tent'. Tiny, cosy, welcoming, and combining an outdoor shower with great hot water and a very well equipped kitchen. Even in dodgy weather, we dined well outdoors and - as importantly - we were well-located for local wineries, artists' studios, and the whole Hawkes Bay experience. Most importantly, our host Anita made the experience so much more positive with offers of fresh produce from her garden and welcome suggestions about local events and things to try.

A lovely little place to stay for a couple of nights. Shame the weather did not allow us to enjoy more outdoor dining!
