Royal Carrangarra Hotel

Easy, laid-back feel of the place, convenient location on the main street. The famous Ben's Chicken Race added a hilarious and fun note to the stay/experience

Bore water tastes a little funny but that's understandable and it's really not a problem.

I stayed at the historic Royal Carrangarra Hotel in Tambo, where the accommodation itself was basic but perfectly adequate for my needs. However, I'm giving this establishment 5/5 for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with the room! The hotel hosts the most entertaining chicken races, which were an absolute highlight of my visit. Add to that an exceptionally talented musician who played several instruments and sang the blues, and you've got an unforgettable evening. My scoring system? Accommodation 3/5, chicken racing +1, fantastic live music +1. Final score: 5/5! Sometimes the best accommodation isn't about luxury. It's about the memories you make!

The brilliance of this place made me forget anything negative!!! Lol

Basic but grate for price. Would stay agaib

the bed linen was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable, the room was basic, but clean. the bathroom facilities were very tired, clean, but worn. I decided to skip the shower as I was leaving early 5am. Got a good cheap steak & chips feed in the bar.

shared bathroom facilities really need a make-over, but it's a very old hotel and if you're travelling through and need cheap/budget accomodation for a night or two. it's not a bad option.
