Dorothy's Dream is aptly named for the dream-like quality of staying there. A historic building with a rich history, you are right in the thick of the old harbor area. Sunrise and sunset can be captured from the rooftop or the windows. The excitement of the evening, including laughter, glass tinkling, and music, drifts up to the house. Enjoy it or close all the shutters for a quieter night. We did both depending on our mood. There is air conditioning, plenty of hot water, and unexpected daily maid service to help keep the place tidy.
It would feel disingenuous to make up something to fill this space.

The house is furnished with incredibly beautiful furniture and decor that embraces you and makes you feel like you are home. The space is intuitive and comfortable for entertaining guest as well. Obviously the location is a major bonus sprouting out of the Byzantine wall like a fairy tale castle and completely surrounded by history with a view that is simply breathtaking.

Absolute heaven. PERFECT location walking distance to everything in downtown/Old Town Chania. Gorgeous views from the rooms and roof deck. The sunsets and views over the water are just dreamy. Lovely and easy arrival with delicious appetizers and wine waiting for us when we arrived. Very comfortable beds. Warm showers. Absolutely beautiful place to call home.
We had to transport our luggage up a rather large hill due to the narrow streets of Old Town and the taxi being unwilling to go any further. When we spoke with our host, they said this shouldn't have happened and the taxi should have gone closer, so next time, we would be sure to arrange airport transfer through Dorothy's Dream team so they can discuss with the taxi driver exactly where to drop off. It was fine for us but would be difficult for older or immobile travelers.
Large set of stairs to enter the property, again fine for us but those with disabilities should be aware.
