The location was a big plus. A hotel with an old world charm, Gimanhala felt like a home away from home, however cliche it may sound.
Such a lovely property needs a tad better maintenance.

Don’t let the central city location fool you! You would never imagine such a peaceful, lush environment existed right in the heart of the city. As soon as you walk in, the ambience shifts into a serene, heritage-style escape.
The food was, hands down, the best we have had so far in Sri Lanka—absolutely delicious and authentic. The staff were wonderful and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. To top it off, the rooms were incredibly comfy and provided the perfect rest after a day of exploring. A true oasis!

Gimanhala has changed a lot since we visited last. A lot changes have come and now the service standards to the total value was amazing. I really liked the Front Office team and the restaurant team for making it feel like home.
