The food and friendliness of the staff, the hotel is close to everything in the town, restaurants etc.
Some decorating may be required, peeling paint etc.

It was old and had character.
Look you can whinge about a lot of things that are not perfect, but it wouldn’t have that character, or feel if it was spick and span.

Every single person we met was friendly and welcoming.
Quirky and homely
The food was exceptional
Shared kitchenette where we could make tea/coffee
The room was very small and we kept banging our heads on the sloping ceiling
