Good base camp location for exploring Genova

This property may not be perfect, but it certainly has a lot of charm and personality. It is tucked away, surrounded by a well-maintained and mature gardens. The rooms and kitchen were clean upon our arrival. Many of the local attractions, restaurants, the Genova Brignole train station, are located nearby and we enjoyed taking our daily stroll along the Via XX Settembre to the old city and the port. Our host, Laura, was very friendly and communicative, and she came up with some very useful recommendations about Genova and a few other spots along the Riviera di Levante.

Lovely lady but property did not live up to ratings for us

Laura is a very nice host with a friendly dog. We had the studio apartment which has lots of rooms and some private outside space. The location is quite close to the bus and train stations.

The property is listed with a high rating and quoted as being a ‘luxury’ apartment and is called a ‘resort’ which is not correct in my opinion, but may be a problem with translation. It is old fashioned and basic, do read the earlier reviews, they are very mixed. Parking is very tight and you have to pay €8 per wash to use the washing machine if you stay less than 3 days.

Great accomodation for open-minded travellers, that like to experience local life rather than luxury

Laura is a very friendly and communicative host. She speaks and writes very good english, which is not so common in Italy. We only met her shortly before our departure, but her friend Stefania took good care of us during our stay. Our room(s) was very clean upon our arrival. The property is beautiful and exudes that old italian charme. This is not a typical tourist accomodation but rather feels embedded into the "normal" surroundings. We really enjoyed this feeling! If we ever return to the area (which we would very much like to), we would gladly stay at Laura's place again and also recommend it to other travellers, who like to experience the "real" local life (rather than staying in an anonymous hotel, only surrounded by other tourists).

It wasn't a problem for us, because we are quite fit, but older or physically challenged travellers might have a hard time climbing the long, steep and narrow pathway that leads from the street all the way up to the apartment (with several gates that need to be unlocked along the way). Also, be aware that the parking spot inside the garage next door is extremely narrow, even for italian circumstances. We only have a small car, but it was impossible to open the side doors when parked, so we always had to climb out somehow, which might not be easy for everyone. Lastly, I found it a little bit confusing that the pictures are mixed between several accomodations that Laura rents out. If you depend on certain features (like a separate kitchen, for example), make sure to ask her in advance, if the pictures shown belong to the place you are renting. All that being said, we still had a great time during our stay. In our view, the positives greatly outweigh the minor negative aspects.

Once you leave the street you pass through 3 metal gates with electric locks or key access. You climb 34 steps and sloping sidewalks to reach the dwellings. Good views, but you must be mobile.

Amazing stay

The host was very nice, and the room was very quiet and spacious. The location is also top notch, all major attractions are in walking distance and the train station and bus stop from which you can go to the airport is 15 minutes away.

Very poor

By night there were strong and weird noises. The bedroom wasn't the one shown on the pictures. It was extremely difficult to get with luggage to the bedroom.

Horror!

Horrible la experiencia. La propiedad nos dejó tirados porque había alquilado parte de los apartamentos contratados. Teníamos una reserva de 4 apartamentos y no nos los proporcionó completos por lo que tuvimos que buscar otro alojamiento al llegar.

Gli arredi vecchi (non antichi) sono difficili da tenere puliti ed efficienti , arredi incoerenti, tende rotte e cadenti , bagno con nastro adesivo ... niente colazione e prezzo decisamente alto . All'arrivo non trovi l'ingresso dalla strada ,no campanello no targa , ho telefonato e mi hanno aperto... In generale avendo prenotato in un "Resort" mi sono sentito preso in giro .

Wer italienische Gastfreundlichkeit genießen will, ist hier genau richtig.

Die Gastgeberin ist eine sehr symphatische und herzliche Person. Obwohl wir vergessen hatten unseren PKW Stellplatz zu reservieren, stellte Sie uns ihren privaten Stellplatz zur Verfügung und parkte ihr Auto um. Die Lage ist sehr gut. Das Zentrum ist bequem fußläufig erreichbar. Die Appartements haben einen ganz besonderen Charme und sind gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtet. Der Garten ist wunderschön. Ein secret place mitten in der Stadt.

Genuja gražus miestas, bet kas nori jūros tai ne čia ....

Kas tikrai gerai - tai vieta. Uostas, centras - visur galima nueiti pėsčiomis. Netoli maisto prekių parduotuvės, kavinės. Taigi su maistu taip pat ne bėda. Gražus sodas, ir pats pastatas matosi senovinis, įdomus. Šeimininkė pasitiko, buvo paslaugi, padėjo įgrūsti mašiną į garažą, nusinešti lagaminus ... Mielas šuniukas, tik vėliau kažkaip jo nebemetėme .

Visų pirma įvažiavimas į garažą. Reikėjo stovėti judrioje gatvėje ir laukti, kol bičiulis susitiko su šeimininke, visi pravažiuojantys buvo labai nepatenkiti. Paskui ir su įvažiavimu į garažą nėra paprasta - reikia paimti kuo didesnį posūkį ir apsisukant atgal prieš eismą įvažiuoti. Su dideliu lagaminu taip pat nepatogu - gabaliukas iki namo, kambarys 2 aukšte, laiptai siauri. Teko nusivalyti dulkes nuo spintos, nes norėjome ant jos susidėti kaip kuriuos savo daktus. Vonioje gyvatukai taip pat buvo dulkini, indus teko persipaluti, nes lipo, puodeliai buvo rudi nuo arbatos. Buvo problemos su internetu, bet paskui šiaip taip sutvarkė.... Mūsų kambarys 2 aukšte, tai jei pirmame aukšte yra žmonės, tai kieme nelabai ir pasėdėsi.... Nesinori po nosim kažkam maišytis. Dar mums nesant šeiminkė vaikščiojo po mūsų kambarį - kažko ten jei reikėjo ...

Romantik pur mitten in der Stadt

Wunderschöne Lage in der Altstadt. Sehr herzlicher Empfang von Laura, der Besitzerin. Das freundliche Zimmer, mit Anschluss an eine Glasveranda, war sehr sauber und shabby eingerichtet. Es gab eine Kaffeemaschine und alles was man sonst so braucht. Im romantischen Garten lässt es sich am Abend entspannt chillen. Das Auto war sicher in der Parkgarage unter gebracht.
