Boutique Hotel Bora

Just a 30min taxi ride from Zadar Airport, Boutique Hotel Bora boasts a truly luxurious hotel and villas. We stayed in a 1 bed apartment which was immaculately clean, with balcony overlooking a pool, an extremely comfortable bed and sofa bed, a luxury bathroom and a kitchenette, which was small but well equipped and had a full size fridge and integrated freezer, which was wonderful. The TOMMY supermarket was relatively close, which made stocking up with groceries easy. In addition to the hotel pool, each block of apartments has its own pool which meant that with a bit of hunting we could always find one with a shady spot, even when the closest one was in full sun or busy… and all the sunloungers come with padded mattresses - heaven!

The town of Pakoštane is beautiful, relatively quiet during the day, but with lots of excellent restaurants and lively bars which come alive at night. We found sea kayaks and SUP paddle boards to rent for just 5€ per hour here, boat excursions out to the islands and coves and to see dolphins were also on offer, crystal clear waters, fish and sea urchins galore made snorkelling a delight, however it’s a good 18 minute walk away from the hotel, so if you don’t like walking, you may want to rent a car for your stay. Similarly, Pine Beach is absolutely idyllic, for €4 pp entry, you have a beach bar, a restaurant, free (Plastic) Sunloungers, sunshine and dappled shade among the pines with a vast, child friendly, shallow cove to splash about in, but it’s also a fair 16min trek, so be prepared - also note the sailing boats, SUPs and kayaks here are NOT for hire, they are for the eco lodge resort guests only. All the locals speak English and we did our best with some rudimentary Croatian, but we didn’t run into any other Brits at all during our stay and concluded Pakoštane is a bit of a hidden treasure.

The staff were amazing from the moment we checked in to the moment we left. Hotel was immaculately clean, breakfast was amazing, pool was quiet and most days had it to ourselves.

The beach and nearest restaurants were a good 30 minutes walk from the hotel so probably not suitable for travellers with mobility issues

Absolutely amazing stay. The staff were the best I’ve ever experienced. Honestly from beginning to end. They communicated prior to the trip, made suggestions and were extremely helpful. The breakfast was amazing, ample fruits and nuts and all you could wish for. The pool and spa facilities were also great. The staff really made it though. Thank you so much for your kindness. I’ll definitely be back!

Slightly secluded but you can walk to the nearest town with little restaurants. Seedless grapes would be nice (they had seeds in) And milk in the room. Ended up paying for our nightcap of tea each night because the tea and coffee facilities in the room weren’t great. My one comment would be a premium stay such as this in other properties I’ve stayed in usually have free tea and coffee all day.
