Sea View Lodge Boutique Hotel

Pool is nice, beach access is good. Room was very clean, comfortable bed . the staff is very nice, friendly and welcoming. All in all a peaceful spot, very laid back .

I had a sea view room, and my view was other guests tanning. The breakfast wasn’t great if you don’t eat carbs in the morning.

Such a beautiful boutique hotel right by the beach! 🌴✨ The room opened directly to the ocean — waking up to that view was incredible. The staff were super kind and attentive; special thanks to Havva for all her help. 💛 They arranged everything perfectly — from the dhow sailing tour to a private driver. White sandy beaches, magical sunsets and sunrises… simply unforgettable! 🌅🌊

The staff is next-level. They made us feel super welcomed and at home, and helped us sort activities multiple times throughout the stay. The pool is also a highlight and the location is unbeatable: right in front of the sea.

We wished there was a small fridge for water inside our room, as it gets quite hot during the day. But it seemed to be an issue only with our room, other rooms have fridges.

We had a room with direct exit to the beach with our own sunbeds - which was great because there are not so many sunbeds, and this way you really are not worried that someone would occupy them. Nice view on the ocean. The lodge hotel area is actually small but it really looks cute, nicely decorated. We liked the decor a lot. Room was spacious and bathroom as well. Staff were polite and did their job. Food for lunch/dinner is ok- nothing too amazing. Very well located for activities in Jambiani/Paje. WiFi worked well for us.

No music in the whole area, this is quite depressing during your stay or during dinner time, it’s just silent. No programs organised - one night 2 men came to sing and play guitar - we thought it was live music, but they sang for 10 minutes and asked for tips. So this wasn’t organised by the lodge, almost nice dining time turned into another hunt for tips. That was a pity. Breakfast is just poor - you have extremely limited buffet (eg only salad and 2 types of cereal) and from a la carte menu 4 dishes- you can only order them once, every repetition is extra. This feels really weird, haven’t seen such a policy somewhere yet. Menu for dinner is ok. Coffe is not good - 3 days without nice coffee was hard. Rooms are really poorly equipped - you only get a safe box, no fridge for water, tea or similar. No soap. Compared to other way cheaper accommodations in Zanzibar where we stayed in, this was disappointing. The lodge had a happy hour - we weren’t informed by the staff so this was really surprising to us as we spent 2 days drinking. Would have been nice to know that - we would probably drink more. The staff was kind enough to adjust our receipt, so we managed to sort it out. They were fair about it. We were told they would compensate with a nice drink during the dinner, but that didn’t happen. For us, that’s not a problem, but as a guest you feel a bit silly when you are told so, and then just let down. We didn’t know we had to pay city tax, this was not clear to us when we booked the accommodation, so we paid it at the end. This would be relatively ok, but after that we also were charged 5% on our card payment when covering the whole bill. This just felt a bit wrong for us, killed the experience. All in all, we had high hopes for this place, but not worth the money we paid.
