fun water park and comfortable rooms, but poor service, limited food, unsafe pools, and almost no entertainment for olde

We stayed at the Aqualand resort For 4 nights with two children (12 and 14) and, unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations. While the water park and pools were enjoyable, the overall service, dining, and entertainment were not worth the price we paid. Pros: • Direct access to the water park with slides and pools for kids. • Comfortable, clean rooms. • Friendly reception staff. • All-inclusive package includes basic meals and drinks.

Slippery pools: The wave pool area is dangerous with no safety warnings; several guests nearly fell. • Limited dining options: Buffet meals were repetitive, with limited variety—especially for children and those with dietary restrictions. Fruit and salad options were the same every day. • Lack of evening entertainment: Activities ended early, leaving older children with nothing to do in the evenings. No structured games or opportunities for kids to meet and interact. • Children’s club and football ground: Both were closed during our stay, leaving recreational options very limited. • Extra charges: Items like ice slushes were not included despite the all-inclusive package. • Checkout issues: We were asked to leave at 11 AM, and when requesting an extension due to a sick child, we were charged €150 to check out at 6 PM. • Location: Not near the town, making it difficult to go out in the evening. Tips for Other Guests: • Bring your own pool shoes and be careful around the slippery wave pool. • Don’t expect evening entertainment for older children. • Clarify all-inclusive coverage, as some items may cost extra. • If traveling with kids, plan extra activities outside the hotel since the children’s club and sports facilities may be closed. Verdict: While the pools and water slides were fun, the hotel overall did not provide value for the price we paid. Entertainment for older children, variety in food, and better safety measures should be improved. This is suitable only if your main goal is to enjoy the water park, not a full all-inclusive family experience.

Good value for money in low season

Rooms are very nice, freshly refurbished in 2025. The food is very good with plenty to choose. The meals are changing every day and a dish rarely repeats in a week.

We stayed there at the beggining of October and the water in the pools was way too cold.

Only water park its good there.

Water park was very good .We stayed from 5th october till 10th october.After 2 days they closed half of water park .Staff was very nice.

In baby pool water is freezing,no shampoo or shower gel in our appartment we had to buy.Small poor village there is nowhere to go for walk in evening.Free bus to go to beach around 8km from hotel,come back after 6hours but small beach nothing to do with kids,sun bed set cost 40e per person.Kids chicken nuggets really bad very dark meat inside.Exspensive uber 9km asking 40e. for 4 persons.

Never again

Disrespectful staff, food was off laying on the tray for 5 days same dish very poor quality for the price. You pay for the water park but gets boring after second day I wish I paid for a decent hotel and go a full day to water park instead. Lessoned learned. No spa as advertised, entertainment was the worse.The entertainer shouted “CHICKEY MIKEY” The entire night and had Romanian music although in Greece. Pretty bad.

Great kids experience

The water slide park and the wave pool was great and always very clean. The food was always tasty.

The negative side was our daughter got burned while getting hot food. And the drain water was always flooding the main footpath all week. There was never enough sun beds at the wave pool.

Poor animation, but it wasn’t a problem, since the hotel has big waterpark and as we prefer travelling around the island.

Vacation

We loved swimming pools and aqua park. Perfect for family with kids. Great food.

Working hours, it would be better if they where longer because we traveled with children of 9 and 12 years, and there wasn't much besides swimming pools for them (for smaller children there is much more to do) But we would recommend this hotel anyway ☺️

Having unlimited access to Aqualand made our week!

Family of 6, we fitted comfortably in room. We much preferred spending time by pool in Aqualand as it was much easier to get a sunbed, cleaner & nicer atmosphere.

Usual reserving sun beds at Dawn… under the signs “do not reserve sunbeds”… kids left to roam around resort in loud groups whilst parents drank in bar. Massive food waste in buffet.. not hotel fault just greedy guests!

The apartment was really clean and having an upstairs bedroom gave a much more homely feel

Room are new, clean and well equipped Swimming pools were big and clean. Access to Aqualand even if only a quarter of the Park was good and actually enough for us at least Reception offered some flexibility to change room Staff was mainly friendly (Kimo especially was great from animation club)

Gym under construction = closed during the 10 days Cutting grass, cleaning and construction on going during the full stay Food was average to low average quality. Especially the snack part and meat that really was low quality. Dessert as well was not so great, lacking quality. Wine was awful, could not even finish on glass over the 10 days. Spirits are also low quality (like what you used to get in night club when you were a teenager). Mini disco was good but WAY TOO LOUD FOR KIDS

Go for the Aqualand - more 3 star than 4 but the Aqualand resort makes up for it.

The resort is dated but Aqualand Waterpark makes up for it, it is clean and staff ensure everyone is safe at all times. The resorts kids club is great and the staff are fantastic with the kids. The free buses to town and the beach are helpful and worth a trip out!

Hotel is dated, food is a little bland. Dinner time in the main restaurant is absolute carnage, we booked the wave restaurant 3 times and ate out 3 times meaning we only have to endure the main restaurant once - maybe the hotel could introduce hourly sittings as it’s just a free for all. The sky bar could do with being updated as well but the staff make up for it all with the kids mini disco.

Great (but only) for children

The Waterpark and wave pool are great for children, nice staff is nice and wellcoming. Bars and food all day. There are Tennis, basketball courts, Table tennis and gym, and you can get equipment

The food is OK and the rooms and facilities are basic and dated. Some are not free. TV didn't work, WiFi unstable. Beds near the pools always occupied (pre ordered for all day).

Cheap and you know why very quickly.

The waterpark is great. Having free access to that is pretty much the only positive.

Not sure how it has so many stars tbc - the food is so so... not that great and pretty limited. Drinks are awful!! The cocktails that are included are not cocktails. The Margarita was like drinking sherbet lemon. The Gin and tonic is like drinking white spirit - it was vile. Beer defo watered down. To have labelled/branded alcohol you have to pay more... anything from 6euro+. There are cups and icecream holders left everywhere around the pool area on the floor blowing around and there is an ABUNDANCE of wasps. Literally so many. You're surrounded wherever you sit outside. The kids entertainment hosted in the sky bar, as well as the other entertainment after is just so loud - really doesn't need to be that loud. We were unlucky to have a room near the front of which you then cannot sleep until gone 11 due to the noise. The room walls are so thin so you can literally hear the next rooms conversations. Beds were not comfortable at all and the bathroom is just so dated.

All you need as a family for a good price

Very family friendly resort with all you need for a fantastic vacation. Good food, super friendly staff and a cosy house with terrace. The Aqualand water slide park has lots of slides for the young and older generation - we had no waiting times when using the slides. We highly recommend staying here.

We had an amazing time.

The waterpark was amazing and the pools especially wave pool, loads to keep young kids entertained. The entertainment team were also amazing. The lifeguards are also really good and the whole complex feels completely safe.

The beds are rock hard, I couldn't sleep in the upstairs bed. The food could be a little better but always found something to eat.

Food at breakfast wasn't great. Not much for vegetarians at dinner. Too much plastic waste. All drinks served in disposable plastic or non-recyclable cups.

Generally good for access to the water park but wouldn't want to stay for more than 1 night.

Location was good and being able to in and out of the water park was useful. We could use the wristbands for food even when we had checked out of the hotel. Wave pool and water park excellent. Staff were generally friendly.

The noise at night was too much. You could hear everything through the adjoining room. The food was not good quality (eg dead wasps in salad and cheap ingredients). Snack station service incredibly slow due to only 1 staff member.

What a deal for families!

A nice resort with wonderful pools, free access to a good water park and all-inclusive, was totally worth the money we paid. We stayed in 5 hotels during our trip, and if we were to return to one of them, it would be this one. Our kids loved it so much and would have wanted to stay much longer. Yeah the food wasn’t so high class, but for each meal everyone in our family found many things to eat and enjoy, also our picky child :)

The wifi was not good, but I read they are getting a better one next year. There was a small window in the bedroom and it had no curtain so the sunlight woke me up too early.
