Hôtel Edgar Quinet

Amazing location in the heart of Montparnasse. Downstairs, you have a plethora of restaurants, cafes, and stores, and Monoprix is a 1-minute walk away, where you can find all the essentials you need. The value is great; the only downside is there isn't air conditioning in the rooms, and the temperature was 99 degrees on the last day I stayed. If you are looking for a budget-friendly, simple hotel, I would highly recommend it.

The bathroom was tiny, unable to fully close the door when using the toilet. I wish the rooms were air-conditioned and had no elevators :(

VERY WELL LOCATED AND REASONABLE SIZED ROOM.

CAN BE A BIT NOISY BECAUSE OF THE POPULAR EATERIES BELOW THE HOTEL. WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE A FAN/AIR CON IN THE ROOM WHEN IT GOT TOO HOT.

Everything you need for a short stay. Kind staff and we loved the neighborhood. Metro station is next to the hotel, with a line directly to the Eiffel tower. .

The room was small and the hotel quite old but generally what we expected depending on the prices of Paris.

Location obviously is unbeatable, the area is amazing , I’ve stayed in this area at least 8 times because of all the cafes that stay open late.

A few things stood out during my stay, but the biggest issue is the lack of air conditioning. I completely understand that older properties may not have AC, but in the middle of summer, the hotel should at least provide fans. I asked for one and was told they don’t have any. It is extremely difficult to sleep comfortably in the summer heat without even a basic fan. What concerned me even more was seeing the staff member working in the lobby without a fan either. The lobby was extremely hot, and when I went outside at night, he was sweating profusely. I genuinely felt bad for him. The hotel management should seriously address this, because if the hotel can’t provide a fan for its own staff to make their workplace more comfortable, I certainly wouldn’t expect them to provide one for the rooms. Unfortunately, the lack of fans alone is enough for me to say that I would not stay at this hotel again. The photos on Booking.com also appear to be quite outdated, as the rooms do not look like they do in the pictures. Another inconvenience is that you have to leave your room key at the front desk every time you leave the hotel, which becomes quite annoying. I have been visiting Paris twice a year for the past eight years and have stayed at several hotels in this same area. Based on my experiences, this hotel, along with Hotel Renoir Montparnasse, ranks among the worst hotels I have stayed at in Paris. There are much better options available in the area, and unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel.
