Residence San Domenico

Everything!! The surroundings, the cleanliness, the pool, the view, the location (it’s quite a long and steep uphill walk, but absolutely worth it), the gardens, and the overall atmosphere of the property were incredibly relaxing. The rooms were spacious, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which made our stay even more comfortable. The hosts were exceptionally kind and welcoming. We usually choose 5-star hotels for our vacations, but this place surpassed them all. Because it was such a pleasant and relaxing place to stay, we actually found it hard to leave the hotel and explore more of Forio!

Honestly, nothing. The only downside was having to leave and go home! We would have happily stayed much longer.

Il posto è spettacolare, immerso nel verde e con uno sfondo impagabile. Il residence trasmette subito un'idea di pace immediata: il silenzio è rigenerante e staccare la spina qui è davvero naturale. Gli spazi sono ben pensati, l'appartamento è pulitissimo, silenzioso e incredibilmente fresco (non abbiamo mai sofferto il caldo, un vero lusso!). Le aree comuni sono curate nei minimi dettagli e pensate per il massimo benessere: La piscina: Un angolo di paradiso curatissimo, con acqua trasparente e lettini posizionati in modo così spazioso da garantire totale privacy e tranquillità. Gli esterni: Un vigneto stupendo e un meraviglioso agrumeto che profumano l'aria e rendono l'atmosfera magica e bucolica. I comfort: Parcheggio coperto (fondamentale per non ritrovare la macchina infuocata), un'area ristoro dotata di zona caffè e snack ottima anche per iniziare la giornata con il piede giusto, e un terrazzino privato all'esterno dell'appartamento, appartato ma arioso, perfetto per godersi cene all'aperto in totale serenità. Un grande valore aggiunto per il relax più totale è la possibilità di usufruire del delivery all'interno del residence: l'ideale per godersi la serata senza lo stress di dover cucinare o uscire. Anche la posizione è strategica: perfetta per chi cerca il silenzio lontano dal caos, ma allo stesso tempo a soli 2 minuti di motorino dal centro. In pratica, il perfetto compromesso tra comodità e isolamento totale dalla frenesia. Un encomio speciale va allo staff eccezionale: Maria e Federica sono sempre a disposizione, premurose ma mai invadenti, e si vede che fanno tutto con il cuore. Ci siamo sentiti coccolati dal primo all'ultimo minuto, proprio come a casa. Infine, il regalo del loro miele a fine soggiorno è stato un pensiero di una dolcezza e cura uniche. Grazie di cuore per questa esperienza indimenticabile di puro relax, ci rivedremo sicuramente presto!

San Domenico was our last stay in Italy as part of a four week trip and unfortunately was the most disappointing accommodation. I have never written a negative review before but this residence did not meet our expectations at all and we left feeling very disappointed. Positives: the pool and gardens are beautiful and very well kept. The views from the pool are lovely and there is occasionally fresh produce left for guests to use. The bedroom has air con which made the apartment nice and comfortable. Negatives: the apartment was very basic. The bathroom is very outdated and was a slip hazard for our toddler. We were left two towels and one toilet roll for a week stay as a family of three. Yes it s self catering but we have done this many times before and have been provided with basics. The location became a real issue for us with a buggy and no car. We knew it was up a hill which is fine, we don’t mind walking but the bends with no pavement and fast traffic meant it was dangerous at times walking into the town centre with our daughter. The buses were regular but we only managed to get on two due to them being so full. Due to these reasons, this is the only accommodation from a month in Italy that I wouldn’t recommend at all.
