Peaceful, rejuvenating, in nature.

I loved the location because although it´s close to the centre and all the restaurants and shops, it is out of the way, so it was quite quiet even though it was a busy time of year. There is a very well equipped kitchen so you can make your own meals if you want to and the eating area is very pleasant.

We had a slight issue with the air conditioning on the first night, but they resolved this very quickly. We didn´t mind, but there is a bit of a hill to walk up to get to the Pousada.

Good

It takes a few minutes of walking uphill from the village centre to reach the place but it is totally worth it, because the location was very peaceful (unlike some other parts of Abrao, which can get very noisy in the evenings). The gardens of the Pousada are amazingly picturesque and well tended, with lots of flowers and trees, and a creek passing by. The staff was friendly and so was a family of black cats living on the premises.

I stayed in the cheapest room they offer and that one felt a bit drafty, with big gaps between windows and the walls. I had to stuff those with plastic bags to keep the wind (and the mosquitoes) out. But I think that's an issue only in this particular room, because the others are equipped with much better doors and windows.

Loving place, amazing experience

The atmosphere here is amazing. You can chill in the nature, surrounded by black cats: it was the first place here in Brasil where I enjoy actually spend time to relax in the facility! Plus is close to everything and the staff are super nice.

Basically everything was perfect. Just be aware that they open the kitchen at 7.30 am so if you plan to go hiking really early be sure to take your food in your room otherwise you will have to wait :)

Someone complained that it is not easily reachable because of a 5 minutes uphill road, but to be honest it is very easy to reach it and this is not a problem at all. It very nice exactly because it is not in the middle on the town centre

The environment is beautiful!!! the owner and other people that work there are lovely!!! it has an outside deck and a superb kitchen

Ideal accommodation for a relaxing time at the island, I recommend 100%.

The surroundings are really beautiful, with a lovely well-taken care of garden. Next to the pousada there is a small waterfall that you can easily access. The staff was really friendly, always happy to chat and offer information and instructions on how to make your visit to the island easier and more fun.

Great friendly hostel

The owners are great, the shared kitchen is huge and has everything you need to cook a nice meal. There is a great outside shower and view of the little lake in the outside area. The room was pretty big and comfortable and we enjoyed it much

The only cone in the hostel is its location which is 10 minutes walking to the center. But it is not that bad and we didn't really suffer from it Only when you walk with you bags it is hard

lovely setting and receptionist but other staff are just rude!

The hostel was lovely with a great room with AC and relaxing setting in the nature. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly.

The reception is not open 24 hrs as advised and so there is no one to help you outside of 3-10pm. We were not warned that they lock the kitchen overnight until 7.30am, which was really annoying when we needed to make breakfast and lunch for an early boat trip that had been arranged by the receptionist. We found the other members of staff/owners to be quite rude, patronising and generally unwelcoming. As soon as the kitchen opened, the ?owners took over the kitchen completely, making it very awkward to use it, especially with the cleaner deciding to follow you around cleaning after you while you’re still doing stuff and turning off things you’re clearly using like the coffee machine. This is clearly more of a guesthouse/home stay than a hostel, but they need to be more welcoming and not take over the place if that’s the case.

The hostel is in a beautiful location surrounded by nature and feels super peaceful. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious and there is ample common space. The room is basic but clean.

Wonderfully quiet -all you can hear at night are the frogs and the running stream - and really only a very short walk into town. The gardens are beautiful, and everything was faultlessly clean. Simple, comfortable accommodation, and exceptional value.

It was a nice location because it is a little further away from the town so it is quieter. It was a very nice atmosphere in the middle of the rainforest and the room was comfortable with good storage space, a nice shower, and a mini fridge in the room. Also access to a shared kitchen. Nice little sitting area outside.

It was not very private as the pathways went directly by the room so it was a bit strange leaving the door and the windows open to the room.

A serene place to unwind away from the parties in the city

It’s nice and quiet, away from the music and parties in the city center. The kitchen is very well equipped and the facilities were clean and well-kept.

Because it’s so humid, my wet clothes didn’t dry and everything felt damp - even my bedsheets.

Cosy wonderful place

Pousada Cachoeira is surrounded with a lot of plants and trees, little bit far from center of Abraão, very quite and gorgeous place, with private waterfalls behind the property.

It is few meters far than that’s reported. Check on Google Maps exact distance from center of the village.

Tranquila e agradável.

A pousada é linda, quieta, tem uma cachoeira que corre na parte de trás, a equipe é maravilhosa, super atenciosos e acessíveis. Tem gatinhos lindos que moram lá e muita natureza. Pudemos nos arrumar no banheiro da recepção após o check-out e o quarto era confortável.

Acho importante destacar que a pousada fica quase no final da rua do Bicão, ou seja, é um longo caminho a pé até lá e esse caminho é completamente escuro e deserto em alguns pontos (não na rua toda!). É uma rua residencial, mas tem alguns terrenos baldios ao redor e achei preocupante. Se eu tivesse viajado sozinha, essa é uma informação que faria toda a diferença na hora de escolher a estadia.
