Stayed before but this time restaurant being refitted which meant breakfast in a dingy meeting hall. The main pool area under maintenance. If I had been informed of this at the booking stage I could have stayed at another hotel with full facilities. A rather disappointing stay for 2 weeks 🥲

After a wonderful stay at Centara Anda Dhevi Resort in Krabi, arriving at Rawai Palm Beach Resort was a huge disappointment. The experience began with a cold and unwelcoming check-in. As regular visitors to Thailand for over 30 years, we have always appreciated the warmth of Thai hospitality, but this was sadly absent. The resort also appeared to be severely understaffed, with the same few employees managing reception, luggage and guest transport. While we sympathise with the staff, who clearly seemed overworked, it inevitably affected the guest experience. Our first room did not match the Deluxe Room we had booked through Agoda. Even after presenting our booking confirmation, we were repeatedly told we had booked a Superior Room and were asked to sign paperwork stating the hotel was giving us a complimentary upgrade. Only after a lengthy discussion did the hotel acknowledge its mistake and provide the room we had actually paid for. This was an unnecessary and unpleasant start to our stay. One of the main reasons we chose this resort was its impressive swimming pool, prominently featured in the online photographs. Unfortunately, the pool was completely closed due to a major refurbishment that would continue beyond our departure. This was not disclosed at the time of booking. Had we known, we would certainly have chosen another hotel. The breakfast experience was equally disappointing. The photographs online show a bright and inviting dining area, but in reality the buffet was served in a narrow corridor beside the public toilets. The dining room itself was dark, dated, poorly ventilated and had a musty smell. It bore little resemblance to the images used to advertise the property. Overall, the resort feels tired and does not reflect the impression created by its online listing. Combined with the lack of hospitality and the undisclosed closure of its main facility, it made for a very disappointing experience. This stay was part of our 30th wedding anniversary holiday, and unfortunately it has been the most disappointing hotel experience we have had in many years of travelling. We hope management addresses these issues so future guests receive the experience they are promised.
