Exceeded Expectations for s thtee star hotel.

We had a very pleasant stay on Koh Lanta. The hotel fully met, and even exceeded, our expectations for a three-star property. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming, the atmosphere relaxed, and the restaurant very good, with tasty food at affordable prices. The location is convenient and peaceful. I would especially like to thank Sunsun from the pool bar, who was incredibly kind, friendly, and always smiling, and Rachi from the restaurant for the excellent service and warm attitude. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would gladly return.

If I really had to mention a small suggestion, it would be to add cushions to the pool loungers for extra comfort.

Communication inappropriate

The stay itself was fine: the room was clean, the reception on site was correct, the taxi booking and scooter rental went smoothly.

However, before our arrival, we received a written message from the property that was aggressive and inappropriate. We were accused of being rude for writing in French, although Booking.com automatically translated our messages. The message also included a very inappropriate sentence (“Thailand is not a French colony”) and a threatening tone. Because of this message, the beginning of our stay was stressful, and we remained uncomfortable during the stay, despite everything being fine on site. This kind of communication is not acceptable and should be improved, even if the stay itself is otherwise satisfactory. The property also indicated that no transfer was available, so we had to organize transportation on our own.

The staff was exceptional and made you feel at home. Jimmy and Suun Suun are so great at making you feel welcome. The rooms were nice and spacious. The location was great, just steps away from the beach. The resort can provide anything you need - motorbikes, tours, laundry - without upcharging you.

Really welcoming staff at a beautifully landscaped resort.

Staff - Jimmy, Joe and Sun-sun were so welcoming. We stayed in November when it was still a little quiet but the staff made up for it. Beautifully landscaped; nice little pool; near beach. Huge, comfy beds. Few minutes walk from beach. Swim up bar was lovely. Good food in the restaurant. Amazing smoothies. All the trips will pick you up directly from your hotel. Good value for money.

Not much not to like! The hotel is not right on the beach. The pool is quite small so I can imagine in peak season it would be hard to get a sunbed and be full of small children.

Nice hotel but wouldn't be our first choice for a future stay in Lanta

We had an enjoyable stay at Lanta Pearl Beach Resort. The bungalow was a good size and the bed was comfy. The bathroom had everything we needed and decent shower pressure. The staff were nice and it was convenient to have a restaurant on site. The property is super close to the beach, and also has a nice pool. It is also within walking distance of a couple mini marts and several restaurants along the main road. We didn't end up using the pool because it rained while we were there, but the pool did look nice.

In part, I am being a bit more picky in this review because I felt a bit misled about this property based on the glowing reviews it has received from others on this site previously. We were satisfied with our stay and certainly understand the appeal of this property, but overall felt it didn't live up to the high ratings it received on websites such as this one. The safe in the room malfunctioned when we first arrived due to being on low on batteries - however, the staff were able to help us fix it right away, and it did not malfunction again. That said, I felt the battery level could have been checked prior to our arrival - as you can imagine, it's disconcerting to have your valuables locked in a box that you can't open! The number 3 on the lock pad didn't work at all throughout our stay, even with the battery changed, though this wasn't a big issue as we could simply choose a password without that number. There were no bedside tables in the room, which was a bit inconvenient as we had to put our things on the ground overnight. As well, only one side of the bed had an outlet. The bathroom isn't the nicest - it's all tiled in black and there are two ledges - one from the toilet area to the sink area and one from the shower area to the sink area. I managed to stub my toes on these multiple times. The door to our bungalow had a small gap even when the door was closed, so there were some mosquitoes in the room. We also had to keep the door to the bathroom closed because there were some holes in the screens that allowed some mosquitoes in.

Stay elsewhere!!

The pool is small but nice and it’s very close to the beach. The floors and bathroom were kept clean.

This place is very funky... not in a good way. The pictures and reviews make it seem much nicer than it is. I was in a “family room” so I’m not sure if that room is much less nice, but there were dead bugs smeared on the walls and the interior is ugly and gross. The walls and furniture look filthy. Also, the twin size bed is very uncomfortable. The towels and sheets smell strongly of mildew. The beach towels are ratty and look like rags. Not worth the money. The outlets also are super oddly positioned and so high up that my adult friend could not reach them… they also make your chargers turn very hot. Also lots of bugs and mosquitos everywhere, including inside the room/ beds. I would not recommend staying here.

Beautiful stay – would definitely return!

We had a wonderful time here. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious and very good value for money. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming — a special mention to Soon Soon at the beach bar, who made amazing cocktails and was always cheerful and kind. The rooms are quite basic, but clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. The pool area was great too — plenty of space and never too busy. Overall, we had such a relaxing and enjoyable stay and would happily come back again!

There were a couple of minor maintenance issues in our room, such as a loose tap and a cracked shower tray, but it really didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed our stay. Everything else more than made up for it!

The people who work at Lanta Pearl are why it’s a Pearl! They are so friendly, welcoming and trusting. You treat them well and they care back twice as much. I’ve been blessed to spend so many wonderful days with my nephew at the Lanta Pearl.

Amazing staff great locatoon

Great location so so close to the beach. The staff were the highlight especially Sunsun, Jimmy and Junior- they were so kind and friendly really made our stay! Restaurant pool and bar were all great as well and the pool.

Beautiful resort + very friendly staff + great food!

The staff here are all very friendly and always very accommodating of any requests. Many of the staff speak good English, so it was easy to ask for things like vegan versions of dishes on the menu etc. The pool is great and big enough for a decent swim and the bungalows are a good size, and the cleaning staff come every day to clean the room and replenish coffee, toilet roll etc. Staff were happy to help us organise transport for trips around the island as well as for our return journey to Surat Thani.

The only downside was that the WiFi in the bungalows wasn't great, but the WiFi connection in the restaurant and bar areas was excellent, so it didn't really matter.

Family holiday

The location was perfect. This is our second stay at this resort, and it was as good as the last time. Staff are lovely and the room was big enough for the four of us. Literally on the beach with very good restaurants close by.

The outside sitting area is very nice with a hammock, but there are a lot of mosquitos, so we got many bits. This has no impact on the resort as it's just nature doing its thing.

Literally everything about the Lanta Pearl Beach Resort was 10/10! We can’t say enough good things about it! Our room was amazing, the resort was beautiful, the beach is a short distance away. We ate at the restaurant every day because it was so good! All of the staff were so nice and accommodating. Our bartenders Suun-Suun, Jimmy, and Jojo are the nicest people we’ve ever met! They took the time to learn our names and all about us. We truly felt at home here.

Family-friendly resort, great value for money, lovely hosts!

The host family are absolutely delightful and made us feel very welcome, e.g. by sharing a bit of the history of the island and just being generally very warm and friendly. After a couple of weeks across different hotels in Thailand, this family-owned place stood out as one we will remember. We had a lovely relaxed dinner in the restaurant and our young kids really enjoyed playing in the garden.

Price and quality are very good.

We booked it very spontaneous. 3 rooms. Price was incredible inexpensive. Breakfast wasn't included but it doesn't matter. Everything so fresh, unbelievable. The resort was lush green. Pool was great. And it's not far from the beach. The only downside are the mosquitos. The net's at the window s are not perfectly fitting, so be prepared with a good repellent. Rooms and bathrooms are quite big. Beds very comfortable and the beach was very clean. So lucky we found this lovely place.
