The breakfast was truly excellent, the staff is professional and lovely, the grounds are *immaculate*, and the area around the hotel offers plenty of refreshing walks in the woods. Safe and peaceful.

Great location en route to Norway from UK. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, easy parking, easy to find, delicious food! A meal on a Sunday evening was hard to find! Will book again.

As indicated in the description, the hotel functions are limited: this is rather a restaurant/event location (marriages) with rooms for the attending guests: no 24/7 reception, sometimes very noisy rooms untill 2:00 AM. Personally, I did not like the bed and pillow quality. To be avoided if passing through and looking for a quiet night. If you really want to stay here, call in advance to see if there is any planned event, and insist on a room in the back, away from the roadside. We were in room 23, next to the road and the beer garden, which closed around 22:30. There was also a marriage party happening, which ended around 2:00; around 2:15-2:30 guests (and DJ?) were leaving, making a lot of noise. It would be more appropriate if the owner would not offer certain rooms on Booking when events are planned. I believe that the 8+ score is derived from the (possibly) good restaurant, but the hotel as it is now does not justify more than 6.0, and not not worth the price we paid.
