Hotel Maria Cristina

We traveled by car and were happy to find a locked garage under the hotel. Friendly staff, newly renovated room, good bed. We were overall very happy. Location about 10 minutes walk from the old town, easy access by car.

This hotel was in a great location for visiting Toledo's old town. It is situated just outside the historic gate and is quite walkable. The room was nice and the bathroom very clean. While the beds were a little hard for my taste, I still could sleep fairly well. The only down side is the hotel is located next to the historic bull ring where needless animal torture is still being committed to this day, and secondly, the bull ring is used as a music venue at night. Both nights of our stay music was throbbing well past midnight, so if you are a night owl and go to bed late, this shouldn't be a problem. Lastly, the breakfast was amazing. It had all the wonderful treats of the region. The only downsize is the two servers for breakfast were extremely loud in their service, throwing dishes onto the shelves, talking very loudly and literally running from place to place. They were heard saying they had so much work to do they couldn't slow down. This is a management problem. The workers shouldn't be so overburdened that they ruin the peaceful experience of eating breakfast that the guests had paid for and expect. All in all, it was a good experience, though.
