Too many Arsenal fans. Price of the room over inflated.

I had been quite a few times in Budapest since 1999 and until 2006, so I haven't been there in about twenty years. Now I have stayed in Hotel Corvin Budapest Sissi Wing for sixteen nights, from the 11th to the 26th of May. Prices are very high, local tourism professionals in the streets are rude and tourism in Budapest is not sophisticated anymore but mass-oriented. There is an obvious cultural decadence or desertification of the city and nobody - tourists or locals - seems to care and the hotel has become some sort of shelter or oasis for me. The fabulous Museum of Applied Arts is "temporarily" closed for renovation and there is not an opening date yet. The Vasarely Museum is "temporarily closed" for no reason until Autumn. The Hopp Ferenc Museum of East Asian Art is "temporarily closed" and it will open soon. The luxurious Gellert Thermal Baths are "temporarily closed" for nenovation and it is unknown when they will open again. The oldest Turkish Baths in Budapest were built between 1566 and 1572 and they are the Kiraly Thermal Turkish Baths; they closed officially on the 15th of March 2020 and they are "indefinitely closed", rumours say that they will be demolished to build a beauty spa or that they do not exist anymore. The Rudas Thermal Turkish Baths are actually open and to visit them you must follow new decency rules and pay 8000 Forints, which is the cost of a 50 gr. jar of Beluga caviar in the Central Market Hall. The National Museum is open but the three rooms that display the true jewels of the museum - the Seuso Treasure, the Coronation Mantle and the Treasures of King Louis - are currently closed without any explanations. If one wants to visit the Great Synagogue, the cost of the ticket is the same as a 100 gr. jar of Beluga caviar at the Central Market Hall - 14500 Forints.

Nothing. It is an exemplary three-star hotel.
