A lovely stay in a magnificent hotel

Perfect location down town Vendome with all shops at walking distance, rapid access to main roads. The hotel is a beauty, the decorated rooms and lobby are lovely, and every detail is a surprise. Rooms are beautifully decorated and the beds are so comfortable. The bar in the lobby is also ideal for a break in the day around a drink, in a super cosy environment. The staff is very pleasant.

The bedroom was a bit cold and I couldn’t set up the temperature.

A chic place to pause in the Loire Valley

Our spacious room had a lovely juliette balcony and the generous bathroom had a roll top bath as well as a double shower. Everything was wonderfully clean, chic and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent - the bread & viennoiserie were from a local artisan boulangerie & were amazing. A very relaxing stay. Vendome is a lovely picturesque town with welcoming bars, very good restaurants, a cathedral, chateau ruins & le loir running through it. It often gets bypassed by the tourists as they rush to visit the many chateaux of the Loire Valley. Vendome is a good place to pause.

We had a pleasant stay in a well located hotel.

The hotel was well located just a short distance from the old town with its restaurants and cafes. The room was spacious and well appointed, but hot in the warm weather we experienced. The buffet breakfast had a wide choice of quality items. We really enjoyed it.

The "air con" unit in the room was not very effective.

Nice but cluttered.

This hotel looks great, old-fashioned and classy. The check-in lady was very nice and informative. The shower stall in my room (#208) was very roomy. Many details, like bathroom details, matched the general classy design of the place. The location is excellent, very close to the old center of town. Great croissants as breakfast.

Both my own room (#208), the breakfast room and the bar/lounge area felt cramped to me. Too many things everywhere. The bed was good once I had climbed in, it was quite high, perhaps with elderly people in mind. The main pillows were a bit like inflated balloons, my head would not sink in but kept rolling off. The evaporation airco/fan in my room was right next to the bed due to lack of floorspace, the room was very hot when I arrived,at 17:00. By the time I went to sleep, at 22:00, the unit had not made a noticeable difference and it was so noisy that I had to switch it off. Fortunately the windows could be opened and let some cool air in.

Right in the centre of the lovely town of Vendome with restaurants, shops and cafes a stone's throw away. The rooms are large, well furnished and clean. The beds are comfy with crisp linens. The breakfast is superb in a gorgeous bijou dining room and there's a Nespresso machine in our room for an early heart-starter. We had a local sparkling wine in the bar before dinner at the fabulous Morris just a two minute walk away (book in advance!) Louis Vuitton is one of the major employers in town and I suspect a lot of visiting staff stay at this hotel.

Did not stay there.

Arrived at the hotel at 15:00. Hotel locked, no lights on, no one at the hotel. Called the phone number on reservation,no answer. Tried to call at corner bar/fabric store, owner there received no answer. Left after one hour. When I checked my email the next day there was a 9:10 email from the hotel asking for me email address to send me an access code. Since we left the previous hotel, we had no WiFi and since our next access to WiFi was to be Vendome Hotel it was not possible to reply to them. Now they have billed me. We did our part and were at the hotel, they did not do there part and have the hotel open for us. I would like booking.com yo look into this situation and have the hotel refund this money. Very dissatisfied with booking.com offering properties where the hotel's only service is to charge for non-performance due to their actions. If there was a problem, then we should have been notified at least two days before our booking date, not s few hours before. As a foreign traveler, they must know the we only have WiFi access at the hotels. My email number is on your booking form but the hotel dif not seem to have it.

It gave us all we needed for a stop-over - comfort and cleanliness, good value for money too.

Location great as a stop-over, hosts friendly and interesting, breakfast was good.

We would have liked to have been able to eat there in the evening but it was all booked up - a nice problem for the hosts.

Staff holidays can be planned. This should not have happened.

Excellent breakfast on Day One, but staff holidays meant no breakfast would have been available on Day Two.

We would have been the only guests, with no staff on site, so we cancelled after Day One. No problem in getting refund for second day.

Great Hotel, Will definitely use them again. Breakfast was amazing each day. Could not find a fault. Facilities were great, Room size and bathroom was great. Absolutely loved everything about this hotel. Nice and center in the town, and walking distance to shops, restaurants etc.
