A very nice experience!

The location of the accommodation is great and the staff were super friendly and helpful! Our room was very comfortable and spacious with an integrated kitchenette and a small balcony. We enjoyed cooling off in the swimming pool and our little one especially enjoyed it. The staff were particularly helpful when we had health issues, and we are very grateful for that! Thank you very much!

A friendly oasis in the city!

The staff made our stay superb, each and every one of them was so friendly and you were always welcomed with a smile and a chat. The pool area was like a calm oasis, so lovely! Our room was always stocked with water, coffee and everything we needed. The bed was huge, and really comfortable, it was always really clean. It was in a quiet location which felt really safe, about 5-10 mins walk to the start of the promenade, where you could walk into the middle of Seapoint within 20 mins. Some great coffee shops nearby, we also found it great for going out for runs and even found a yoga studio 5 mins away. We didn’t take up the offer of any of their tours, but used a tour company to sort these for us, however did notice there was a large variety.

We only had a double room so may not be the case for the others but it was a little bit dark in the decor and as it was right next to the front entrance we heard people coming and going. Not a criticism in the hotel itself just that specific room.

The decor, attention to detail, comfortable bed, nice touches like the shortbread biscuits available in the tea service area. Breakfast was delicious. Bar is a nice place to relax. Staff are great. Liked our large private patio. Location is great.

Best in Cape Town

This is easily one of the best properties in Cape Town. It has true boutique vibes with soul, paired with stunning architecture. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the wellness scene, cafés, and restaurants in Sea Point. The staff are exceptional, especially Simon, Riano, and Raymond who truly made the stay unforgettable. The pool area is incredibly pleasant, with intimate, relaxed vibes. I enjoyed it so much that I kept extending my stay. Highly recommended.

Disappointing as i had stayed there previously before covid. It needs some TLC

The bed was comfortable and the rooms and guest areas clean. The linen was good quality.

very limited parking space. no water in the rooms no phone in the room, so you have to walk to the reception area for any room assistance like laundry needs. rooms are quite small so it felt a little claustrophobic. They had navy washing towels and white bath towels. I generally prefer white ones as they appear more cleaner.

Location is good. Bed sheets are clean.

It is definitely not 4 star hotel. Room is very small, shower is narrow and the floor has a bowl shape that is a bit slippery, there is a lot of furniture in the room that blocks any narrow corridor. It doesn’t look generally well maintained. Despite it looks fine in the pictures. Sun always makes things betters. I believe it is overpriced!

Highly recommend a hidden gem

Perfect location and excellent facilities within the accommodation. Breakfast was relaxed and well prepared and cooked. All staff were very friendly and especially helpful particularly Raino. The were always willing to give time to plan a day or book a restaurant. Would highly recommend this place which is within a short distance of V&A Waterfront.

Hotel is nicely located in below Signal Hill and close to the sea, which makes it an ideal starting point to discover Cape Town. The Hotel is a real Gem from the inside, small, cozy and very familiar. The Staff is amazing it is overall a great place to hang out.

A cosy boutique haven with heartfelt service, chic design, and a truly welcoming home-away-from-home feeling.

A beautifully designed and very cosy lodge with a warm, boutique atmosphere. The rooms, pool, and bar area are all high-end, and the location is perfect for exploring Cape Town. Simon and the entire team made us feel like friends rather than guests — sharing great insider tips (like where to find the best ostrich steak!) and offering exceptional service. The homemade cake and breakfast were delicious, and having a fireplace in our room made the stay truly unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect trip

Our whole stay at The Blackheath Lodge wat utter perfection, from the friendliest staff to the lovely breakfasts. The staff were amazing and so helpful - the dinner recommendations were always perfect. The rooms were stunning and the beds were extremely comfortable. We stayed here for part of our honeymoon trip to South Africa and it was the highlight of our trip.

Exceeded expectations

Blackheath lodge exceeded all of our expectations. We stayed here for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon, and we were so impressed by the staff and accommodation, that we ended up booking into their sister hotel in Franschoek because of our experience in Blackheath Lodge. We were greeted originally by Riano who was very welcoming and friendly, and he kindly sat with us and went through our plans for our time in Cape Town and helped us to create an itinerary of what we'd like to do while we were there. He was also very helpful at booking trips around Cape town if we wanted to do them. For the other days in the hotel, we had the pleasure of dealing with Mimi, Simon, Grace and Comfort, all of whom were so friendly and welcoming. Mimi helped us to plan some of our days and booked dinners for us and Simon gave us great recommendations for Hermanus. The service was exceptional, honestly felt like we were at a home from home. Our room was beautiful and clean, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious each morning. The location is ideal too - just a short walk from the sea front and you can safely walk along the sea to the V&A which is about a half hour walk from the hotel. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone wondering where to stay in Cape town for the first time.

A heartfelt, unforgettable stay in a place that felt like home from the moment we arrived.

We had an amazing stay at Blackheath Lodge. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming, especially Simon, who made us feel truly cared for. The entire atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and the breakfast each morning was delicious and beautifully presented. Every detail of the property felt thoughtfully prepared.

Honestly, the only downside was having to leave. We would have loved to stay longer!
