Lovely old cottages, warm for the winter, large communal spaces & wonderful comfy bedrooms, great kitchen facilities too
As a house for a large group - one of the communal rooms could have had a TV.

Truly charming property, very friendly hosts, good food, interesting guests (apart from us Norwegians: US and Austrian).
Very narrow roads leading in to the property, but I guess that is part of the charm.

For older people especially …..Steps in bathroom, v windy staircase, places where you can hit head.
All the guests who had evening meal thought the main course was a starter! Then just a few chocolate truffles left on table. That was it!
No milk in bedroom for tea in morning.

Good parking and electric charging, super helpful staff with recommendations of what to do each day, delicious breakfast and dinner, comfortable room, super comfy bed, very hot powerful shower, dog friendly, stunning location!
Our room wasn’t cleaned one day when requested but it didn’t take away from our lovely stay

This property and location is stunning.
Food amazing, room was perfect, we loved the bath in the bedroom and the views are out of this world. This place is very special. Hidden away and perfect to relax in. Loved the log burners and honest bar was nice to
Socialise in.
Our bed was not the most comfortable but that’s because we are use to a soft mattress.
Tv did not work in our room and WiFi is t the greatest if completing work etc, but who needs TVs and computers when at a beautiful place like this. Really can not fault the place.
Our satnav took us down some very unsuitable roads but it was an adventure.

The ambiance at Weeke Barton is lovely and very relaxing. The hotel is very stylish with a mix of contemporary and antique furnishings and is very welcoming. Although the hotel doesn't serve evening meal every evening they were most accomodating when we arrived at 5.30pm and arranged some home-made muesli and yoghurt for us, which was very filling. The hosts are friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the local area. I've stayed several times when visiting my daughter at Exeter University and think this is the most charming place to stay in the area.
I would prefer to have the option of dining in the hotel in the evening which is why I gave a score of 9 rather than 10 but I do realise that with a hotel of this type and size that that is not necessarily practical. However if you're happy to eat out then I would highly recommend staying at Weeke Barton.

Stunning location, perfect welcome, great atmosphere, seriously comfortable beds, amazing breakfast (which was so good we had planned to leave at the crack of dawn on the sunday but hung around just so we could experience breakfast again) and the cleanest accommodation I think I've ever stayed in, everywhere was pristine. Will definitely book again and highly recommend!
Nothing - it went way beyond our expectations!

beautiful location; very spacious room and facilities; very warm & welcoming owner; very good food (breakfast & event meal).
Struggled with Wi-fi connection but not a big deal given how many other great things the accommodation offers.

Jo and Sam are as friendly as you could wish, with lots of local knowledge and recommendations, while never being overly attentive. Breakfast was great: as large a portion as you wanted, with fresh ingredients all ready and waiting at your table when you come down, filling us nicely until the evening. The building is tastefully decorated - a perfect balance of modern and country character - with lovely vast grounds overlooking picturesque views. Beds were comfy with super soft linen, while the bathrooms had lovely toiletries, big towels and even down to thoughtful touches of cotton wool and cotton swabs provided. The whole experience was just so relaxing, the place so nice, the owners so warm, it must be called the Weeke Barton because you’ll wish you were staying at least another week longer.
There aren’t keys for the rooms as they only lock from the inside, so a safe would give a bit of reassurance over valuables.

Great hosts, great welcome, felt like home from home. The evening meal on the Monday, and breakfasts could not have been any better, everything is freshly made and did not disappoint. The views and location are superb if you want to chill out.

Delicious breakfast.
Sam who greeted us at the door quickly showed us around but seemed quite distant. Jo who served us was a bit more engaging.
We didn’t realise we couldn’t watch TV in our room just DVD’s. We were told they couldn’t get a good signal. It took us a while to find their DVD collection which was downstairs and part of their bar area.
After we returned from dinner out we had problems setting up the TV integral DVD player. We had to phone Sam for help who quickly came up and addressed the issue. By way of courtesy it occurred to us he failed to enquire how our dinner was.
We were offered their homemade award winning granola (per person an extra £5!) for breakfast but we declined. We felt somewhat uncomfortable to see an unopened granola package on our breakfast table a bit like a ‘for sale’ item. Fruit juice would have been nice but again we had an unopened big bottle placed next to the granola. Too embarrassed to ask if that was also going to incur an extra charge.

A beautiful little boutique hotel in an excellent location between Dartmoor national park and Exeter. We slept very well in a comfortable bed with very soft sheets and had a delicious breakfast each morning. Jo and Sam were friendly and helpful hosts with lots of personal recommendations.

lovely location
May be the directions we took to approach the property first could have been more clearly explained by booking . com that was not the owners fault .
